So how do you poach yours? Years ago I had an aluminium pan which had four little cups inside that had to greased before adding the eggs. I used it for donkey's years. Then I tried little non stick silicone cups but guess what- they stuck.. Have read about swirling the hot water around in a pan, adding a drop of vinegar, but the centrifugal force made the egg white spread out all over the place. Apparently, chefs have the eggs encased in cling film before dropping them into the water.

Nonnasusie - that's terrible! were they enclosed?
We've let ours out into the garden today, just hope there are no predators about. They're happily scratting in the empty veg. patch.
We're only getting about 2 eggs a day now, but they are perfect for poaching.

Yes they are enclosed but unfortunately a bit away from our house! The thieves cut the wire fencing this time, last time they used bolt cutters on the padlocks!! The dog we have there is a stray that we adopted and he is a lovely animal but a bit of a wuss despite his size!!!

I use a very small non stick wok . It's made by circulon and I'm happy to do four eggs at once ,no vinegar. The water comes back up to the boil I turn it out and make the toast. As the toast pops up I drain the eggs onto folded kitchen paper a la Delia with a slotted spoon. DH has them as a reward.
