Are you loyal to one tea brand?

My supermarket delivery substituted my usual Tetley's with Another Brand. I don't think I ever consciously decided that Tetley's was my brand - I've just always bought it. Just made myself a cup of tea and had to throw it away. Are you loyal to one brand of teabag? I don't think I realised I was until now...

Oh I long for a really good cup of tea. I find most brands of tea bag insipid and gave just bought myself a fancy teapot to use with loose tea. Sainsbury only had two choices of loose tea and I bought Yorkshire leaf tea. It is horrible. I am looking for a cup of proper builders brew. Any suggestions, folks ?

I always used to buy Tetleys teabags but changed to Yorkshire Tea for hard water and prefer that. It makes a good flavourful cup and it's now my usual brand.

I use a teapot and Punjana loose leaves , this might be a Northern Ireland brand ? I tried the Yorkshire stuff and Tescos own brand , both didn't hit the mark by a long shot !

I am a teabag slut, not loyal to any brand at allgrinAlthough you can't beat Twinings for any kind of tea.

or do you lock him in a cupboard?

Well I hope you all have some feelings for me, a lifelong tea whore, who has just been instructed by the uro-gynae clinic to drink only decaf tea from now on sad. So out with all the decent tea, and in with (thanks to DH's love of economy) Tesco's own brand of decaf tea - an insipid tasteless drink that doesn't deserve the name, quite frankly. I know there are some better ones out there and I shall make sure I'm at the helm next time we go shopping for them!

Auntieflo Fri 19-Feb-16 11:52:48

Indinana, why not try M&S decaffinated tea. I bought some for my DIL, and it's been lurking in the cupboard. When the decorators finished up all our supply of ' builder's tea bags' , refusing our Earl Grey, they had to have the M&S ones. They were deemed OK, and I have since tried them, and they are fine, 1bag in a mug makes a good strong brew.

Mainly Tetley. Will try another occasionally, and then go back to Tetley.

annodomini Fri 19-Feb-16 12:32:19

Waitrose's own brand Ceylon leaf tea; Dragonfly redbush Earl Grey tea.

PG Tips or Ty Phoo.

Thanks Auntieflo (my DH had an auntie Flo, and it's her face I always see when you post wink). I shall definitely try the M&S brand next time I'm in there.

I only drink green tea with lemon, it's got to be Clipper.

Tetley for me. I drink many cups of it throughout the day. However, my DGD brought me some Rington's back after she'd been visiting her partner's granddad in Newcastle. He used to work for the company and he must be able to 'get it cheap' wink) I love it!

ninathenana Fri 19-Feb-16 13:09:08

PG Tips every time. If they are on offer I bulk buy. I never drink tea when I'm out as I'm such a connoisseur fussy bugger smile

Greyduster Fri 19-Feb-16 13:52:12

I only drink Tick Tock (otherwise named 'Toxic' by DH) red bush tea. Have tried other brands but they are all horrible. I keep Twinings Earl Grey for DD and Yorkshire for DH and everyone else. If I'm out I don't drink tea.

grannylyn65 Fri 19-Feb-16 13:52:24

Its the way you get a large pot with one teabag!angry

Yorkshire tea for me! brew

chelseababy Fri 19-Feb-16 16:55:23

Typhoo but Sainsburys don't stock it any more so I switch between Tetley and Pg. If I go to Poundland I buy the Typhoo one cup bags.
