I have a friend who always has the same thing for breakfast every day ( weetabix with milk and sugar and a banana)now that is very nice, but I couldn’t have the same thing every morning day in day out.
I like to ring the changes so have all manner of things, marmalade on ryvitas or toast, cereal ( bran flakes or porridge or cornflakes with a scattering of dried fruit on)
Poached or scrambled eggs, a bacon roll, croissants, fruitbread, and even now and again pancakes. If I have a favourite amongst those it’s marmalade toast with a huge mug of tea.?
What’s your favourite?

Usually a protein breakfast as I am not very good with gluten. Two eggs every day when we are away in the winter and back home, well not good at eating much before 11 so I tend to have just a cup of coffee then when I am out and about a cup of coffee, a slice of toast and a portion of baked beans. Same price as coffee and a cake but better for you. Annibach, think an instant pot is one of those pots of instant porridge that you just pop into the microwave. Usually have a fair bit of sugar in them.

Can I change that from breakfast to breakfasts?I have strange meal times that come with living on my own and breakfast/s being my favourite meal.
Breakfast one at eight am is two cups tea while making my large bowl of porridge with soya milk.
Breakfast two at eleven am is two slices of toast butter and marmalade or honey followed by two cups of coffee made with semi skim milk.Lunch is when I am hungry, no particular time, the same applies to my evening meal and whatever I fancy.
Nankate try drinking a minimum of six glasses water through the day that should prevent your stomache cramps that the porridge you mention or other oat cereals can cause.

Anniebach an Instant Pot is an electric pressure cooker cum slow cooker. It does all sorts and is highly recommended.

At least five out of seven it’s porridge, with linseed, blueberries & milk.
Our other go to, are marmalade on seeded bread, the odd day maybe nothing, or sometimes it’s out the door with a banana!
Then on average every couple of months we will be a fry up.

Porridge with fruit (frozen in winter, fresh when in season). I use Scott's Original Porridge Oats, add a little bit of syrup. 2 mins in microwave. 2 x Cups of weak Marmite. Small glass of fruit juice.

If I'm going out early I will have toast sometimes with Marmalade depending on the type of bread. I like to be up for at least, 1 hour before I eat , sometimes longer.

When I visit DM I have Jordan's Crispy Crunch (other brands are availablegrin) with fruit juice. I hate the taste of yogurt & milk (except in coffee).

Katydid, good to hear what an instant pot is, might get myself one. At a guess I thought an instant pot was like those pots of instant noodles that you can buy but porridge!

Small grab of walnuts and a coffee does me perfectly every day.

Sheilasue Sun 28-Jan-18 15:13:03

Oatabix with berries, Greek honey and some runny honey on top and skimmed milk, or special k with banana, sourdough toast with marmalade no butter.

Cherrytree59 Sun 28-Jan-18 15:24:48

Lemon Not sure if you would call it exactly the same breakfast every morning

Usually Tesco's jumbo oats.
Usually Aldi Vanilla yogurt
But then I do manage to ring the changes
by adding a different fruit every morning.
This Morning it was mixed berries.
Tomorrow it will possibly be fresh pineapple (57p in Tesco).
Even if we were having a different breakfast at the weekend, I would still have this first (suppose I'm a little greedy.blush)
I also like to use the same bowl,

Starting the 18:6 eating plan 1st Feb.
But would rather have my breakfast at a later, than miss it out!

I'm on a lot of painkillers at the moment following knee replacement surgery and am suitably bunged up so it's porridge and tinned prunes ( in juice) for me for the foreseeable future! Usually I would eat anything I fancied for breakfast.

Greyduster Sun 28-Jan-18 15:46:54

I generally only like breakfast when we are on holiday. Any other time I can be seen pushing one weetabix around a bowl, hoping that the ground will open up and swallow it so that I don’t have to! However, while DH was chomping his way through his usual enormous bowl of muesli, I decided I would open a tin of sild in tomato sauce and have them on toast. Very nice!

Chattycathy Sun 28-Jan-18 16:03:59

A banana pancake,Greek honey yoghurt and blueberries. Heaven!
Pancake dead easy - mash one banana, add one small egg, and a tablespoon of SR flour. I had a waffle maker for one which I use on top of the hob or just make in a frying pan. So quick and really delicious.

W11girl Sun 28-Jan-18 16:41:03

Zero sugar/fat yogurt, muesli and whatever fruit is knocking about in the fridge. There’s always something!

Ellie Anne Sun 28-Jan-18 16:53:43

Usually toast or just a cup of tea. But DH has exactly the same for breakfast and lunch every day

NanKate Sun 28-Jan-18 16:54:58

Thanks Kathyd and SunnySusie for your suggestions. I will try the 6 glasses of water Sarahellenwhitney for the cramps.

Now can you tell me Greyduster what sild is, never heard of it ?

lovebeigecardigans1955 Sun 28-Jan-18 16:55:24

I eat a combination of All Bran with soft fruit - raspberries, strawberries, blueberries, blackberries and cherries, depending on what's available at the supermarket. Then I eat a nice juicy pear and enjoy a nice cup of tea (or two). I have this almost every day but don't feel bored with it. I am a morning person but can't be bothered to use my imagination at that time of day.

Rosiebee Sun 28-Jan-18 16:55:29

Night before put 100g of frozen summer fruit in small bowl with 30g own muesli ( S'burys T the D oats / chopped up prunes/ crumbled walnut halves and dried cranberries).
In morning stir well and top with Yeo valley plain yoghurt and drizzle of honey. That sounds really geeky but I love it. Every day except mini English on Sunday.

Lilyflower Sun 28-Jan-18 17:12:13

Two Digestives in the week, homemade spelt bread toast with homemade Seville marmalade and butter on Saturday, Tesco Finest croissant and homemade jam on Sunday and always two cups of good Kenyan coffee.

Greyduster Sun 28-Jan-18 17:46:42

NanKate sild are very young herring, smaller than sardines - more like whitebait really. They are very tasty and easier to eat than sardines.

Yve1 Sun 28-Jan-18 18:00:03

All year round I usually
have 2 slices of toast with Nutella or Marmite but during the Spring, Summer and Autumn I have a full English on Saturday as it is a really busy day with the changeover of anglers and all of the cleaning that is required. Sometimes I fancy scrambled egg with toast instead.

keffie Sun 28-Jan-18 18:26:27

Coffee, Greek 0% yogurt and honey finished with a slice of melon

Newquay Sun 28-Jan-18 18:28:27

Gabrielle and Farview-I grew up (in the poverty stricken) Potteries with pobs. Delicious!
Nowadays, like most of us it seems, porridge-half water, half semi milk-in microwave. Then a bowl of fruit.

Jalima1108 Sun 28-Jan-18 18:34:20

That was one of the things I didn't like about being ill - bread and hot milk Newquay.
