I have a friend who always has the same thing for breakfast every day ( weetabix with milk and sugar and a banana)now that is very nice, but I couldn’t have the same thing every morning day in day out.
I like to ring the changes so have all manner of things, marmalade on ryvitas or toast, cereal ( bran flakes or porridge or cornflakes with a scattering of dried fruit on)
Poached or scrambled eggs, a bacon roll, croissants, fruitbread, and even now and again pancakes. If I have a favourite amongst those it’s marmalade toast with a huge mug of tea.?
What’s your favourite?

Like many others I have porridge with blueberries and a dash of honey. Must confess I have this virtually every day

Ah yes, pobs! Used to love them as a child.

There is a lot of porridge and healthy fruit being eaten I see.

Another nice brekky is: Sainsburys maple pancakes ( they come in packs of five or six, and are to be found near the croissants) with Sainsburys breakfast apricots ( they come in tins) on top and then any vanilla yoghurt poured over.Yum!
The pancakes are put in the toaster for a few mins, and you only need one, unless very hungry.
They are also nice with a bit of syrup and creme freche or cream.

I have the same thing everyday cup of tea and a bowl of ricecrispies

Am interested in knowing, from those GNers who have the same breakfast every day, why they do it?
Because it’s easy? because they love it so much? Or another reason?

lemongrove Sun 28-Jan-18 20:22:48

I love rice crispies Shirley but always forget to buy them.

Noticed that no one (unless I've missed it) states they have a full breakfast, bacon, eggs etc.
Most seem to have cereal, porridge or just coffee or tea.

I decided when I retired that I would not be offering a choice at breakfast because it would mean 30 years of offering and I have better things to do. I have muesli with added nuts for breakfast every day and if husband wants something different he makes it.

Grandmama Sun 28-Jan-18 20:53:07

I have rocket fuel. 1 tsp of porridge oats, 1 tsp rolled oats, then every possible sort of nut (comes to about 25g) then a small tsp of each of a variety of seeds (about half a dozen types). Mixed with Alpro vanilla yoghourt. Also a small cup of all milk coffee and half a grapefruit (no sugar). On waking I have a cup of tea, best of the day. No rocket fuel on Sunday - then it's croissant with extra butter and marmalade.

Slice of toast spread with bovril then topped with mashed abocay. Sounds foul but is delish!

Nanna58 Sun 28-Jan-18 21:02:24

Meant mashed avocado ?!

grannybuy Sun 28-Jan-18 21:22:43

Almost every morning, one and a half Stockan's Orkney thick oatcakes with coarse cut marmalade and a cup of white tea. If we have visitors I might have a croissant.

Jumbo oats soaked overnight in Greek yoghurt then add oat bran, nuts and raisins in the morning. Top off with skimmed milk and a cup of coffee. Been having this for years. Love it. Best meal of the day ?

One slice toast (preferably M&S superseded), half with marmite, half with honey. Go through a long period of same thing every day, then change to another long period of something different every day!

Either a mug of coffee, two slices of toast with Laughing Cow Lite and either Marmite or Peanut Butter. Or occasionally a Full English.

Mug of tea, thyroxine tabs. and a banana. Same every day. Thursday is supermarket shopping day and I have a crispy roll from their bakery with butter and honey when we get back.

Anniebach sorry, I've only just returned to this thread and seen your question. An Instant Pot, as someone else mentioned, is an electric pressure cooker, with several functions that traditional stove top pressure cookers don't have. It has built in programmes for cooking rice, meat/stew, poultry, soup, porridge. It even has a yoghurt programme - I make yoghurt regularly in it! It can also be used as a slow cooker, though I've never used this feature. Oh, and you can make cheesecakes in it, really amazing cheesecakes, cheesecakes to die for! probably why I'm always on a diet.
It really is a great addition to any kitchen - I wouldn't be without mine smile

have a look at it here

Two cups of Nescafe with wholemilk and a ton of refined white sugar - damn the self-appointed dieticians!

annodomini Mon 29-Jan-18 11:09:21

Sliced banana, natural yoghurt, Quaker Oat Crunch cereal (about 20 gms), plus a scattering of blueberries when I remember to buy some. Very large mug of Ceylon tea (leaf), no milk or sugar.
If I run out of cereal or yoghurt, I resort to wholemeal toast with butter and Vegemite.

Bellasnana, I’m with you on that, porridge always makes me more hungry too. Thought it was just me being a bit odd!

Small bowl of fresh fruit salad and a tangerine, with, occasionally , a few mini shredded wheats with milk.

About the ‘full English’ ( or full Scots or full Irish or full Welsh) grin we have this usually every Sunday morning,
Bacon and fried tomatoes, fried egg and buttered toast ( now and then, a bit of fried bread too.)
We don’t include: sausages, black pudding or baked beans ( beans should never be served at breakfast anyway, sez I.)?

Porridge with banana and honey toast and apple juice. 5 days a week cooked breakfast at weekends. Mmmm

Nanabilly Mon 29-Jan-18 18:13:31

I ring the changes with breakfast . After not eating anything until lunchtime for years I force myself to eat breakfast since my gp told me to eat earlier . I have either...
toasted seeded batch and marmalade
poached eggs on toast
porridge
Greek yogurt and fresh fruit with a bit of honey
Greek yogurt and muesli
plain cereals

What about when you have the GC's? I have GC's with us for breakfast at least 3 days a week if not more, so it is eggs, sausage, sometimes potatoes fried or toast and jam. At times when I have 3 or more GC's it is what you might call, Swedish pancakes but in Finnish they are lettu. Some of the boys eat 6 to 8 of them. I cannot keep these children filled up!
