What food or drink do you have to keep out the cold?

We are having bacon, egg, mushrooms, baked beans, sausage and eggy bread for DH.

I’m sure I read somewhere that when you are almost, nearly snowed in and it’s very cold and windy outdoors, calories in your food are reduced by about, oooh..... 95%.
And if it’s fruit or vegetable based ie. rice pudding and stews then there aren’t really any calories to speak of at all

I made leek and potato soup yesterday for lunch. Chicken and prawn stir fry tonight - my husband's favourite meal. Suddenly fancied making oat biscuits this afternoon but, to be honest, I thought they were a bit so so. More sugar next time, I think.

Last night it was liver and bacon casserole with jacket potatoes. Today, homemade spicy vegetable soup for lunch, with wholemeal bread. Then this evening it was chicken tikka biryani - ready meal, I'm afraid, we've had a busy day! I have spent the afternoon baking fruit cake - my response to cold weather is always to eat more carbs, unfortunately, so I'm really hoping the temperature rises soon, or I shall undo all the good work I've done so far this year sad
