What time dinner?

I like a late dinner. 8pm or a little later . ONE of the reasons I like to eat late is that I'm invariably home from work late. But another is that if I don't eat late, I eat dinner then pick at food later. Whereas with a late dinner, I'm not interested in food before bedtime.

BUT where I work now, I'm provided with (very good) lunch and dinner. And both are too early for me. Lunch at 12 and dinner at 6.

What is your preference?

It’s a very moveable feast here, depending on what we had/hadn’t at lunch time and when that was - its also very flexible. Left to himself my old boy could easily settle into a set routine which would drive me to distraction. It’s been my life’s work to encourage spontaneity!

We eat when we are hungry! Up at 6 and have breakfast so by 11.30 we are ready for lunch, at 4.30/5 we have dinner . This suits us very well and I don't eat after this except a piece of chocolate.

If we go out to lunch which is quite often then it will be 12 o'clock. Don't like going out in the evening.

It's good to be able to just eat when you are hungry rather than sticking to rigid mealtimes. No need for set times when retired.

I don’t eat breakfast, a light lunch around 1pm, maybe a biccie or 2 with tea at 4ish, then dinner/tea/supper/whatever you like to call it about 7.30. I hate it when DH decides to cook as he doesn’t start until about 8pm and by the time the food turns up I’ve been ready to start chewing the wallpaper. I suspect it’s a plot to ensure I clear my plate.

We generally have our main meal at between 1 and and a sandwich or something on toast around 6 p.m. - unless we are either going out for a meal with friends or preparing a meal for them - but that is fairly rare.

When we were both working, dinner was at about 7 p.m.

Dinner is usually around 7 pm. but it depends on what we have been doing in the day or are going to do in the evening. Nothing set in stone.

We eat about 7.30 - 8.00pm, depending upon work and other commitments.
Lunch around 12.30 to 1.00pm.

We don’t eat breakfast (I know, I know ...) unless we are away. Then we usually can’t resist a big hotel breakfast on at least one of the mornings.

I eat my dinner between 5 and 6pm.
Lunch around midday.

Lunch usually somewhere between 12 and 1pm, and tea usually somewhere between 6 and 7pm, but we are very flexible over those times, depending on what we are up to.

We eat our main meal between 5 and 6 p.m. if at home and between 1.30 and 3 p.m. if eating out. Now finding that as we are older eating a big meal after 8 p.m. means we don’t sleep that well.

main meal of the day seems to be called something different depending on which part of the UK you are from. Is it supper? Tea? or Dinner? It is dinner for me eaten around 5pm but I do get confused when people ask me for supper or tea as not quite sure what I am going to get!

I can't eat a main meal at lunch-time. If we go out for lunch I have a struggle to finish it.
Normally lunch about 1pm and dinner at about 7pm.

I did mean to have a larger meal at lunch-time today but DH was out because it's Shrove Tuesday!

Pancake batter already mixed and in the fridge.

I like to do all my eating within an 8 hour time slot. I therefore have a brunch at around 10am and dinner at 5pm.
