What are you all having to eat tonight? I cook every evening and have been getting bored with the usual meals. Tonight, I've made a Chicken Jambalaya - it's a Hello Fresh recipe I had ages ago, but I bought all the ingredients and have adapted it a bit.

I've made a carrot cake for afters.... with cream grin

I went mad last night and instead of the usual cauliflower/macaroni cheese, I just did the C/cheese with a couple of big baked potatoes.
Very nice and a bit less of a faff, not to mention less washing up.

Just got my Oddbox of fruit and veg. Today we have kalettes, a cross between kale and brussels sprouts (never seen them before) - so tonight it'll be Taifun smoked tufu, roasted veg and steamed kalettes - nice!

I still have some lovely raspberry flapjacks left (made yesterday) that might just survive to be dessert, if I don't scoff them after lunch)

(There's no dairy, dead birds or animals in my fridge these days - it's vegan all the way.)

Shandy57

Lentil curry and wholegrain rice.

This sounds nice, what’s in the curry?

Tesco Finest Sourdough Pizza which was yellow stickered and will be ‘improved’ by adding chorizo, tomato and olives and served with rocket salad and potato salad.

Meringue with raspberries and Greek yogurt for pud

I am trying a new recipe that I found in the Sainsbury's magazine. Lamb moussaka ragu, with rigatoni. It's in the slow cooker, and smelling yummy!

After what turned out to be enough liver and bacon to sink a battleship yesterday, we are going light(ish) with a bacon, lettuce and tomato panini followed by a slice of jam and cream sponge that I made this afternoon.

A big Quiche Lorraine, or at least, my version of it, hopefully without a soggy bottom, with some dressed salad leaves.

Shandy57 Thu 04-Mar-21 15:59:27

@Summerlove, it's the BBC recipe.

I'm concentrating on reducing my food waste and I've recently discovered the frozen mixed bags of vegetables at M&S, they are absolutely delicious. I do like natural yoghurt with my curry. Not so keen on wholegrain rice but trying to eat it more often, my friend has bowel cancer through not having enough fibre in her diet.

I forgot to say I don't add the raisins, I'm not keen.

Potato rosti with some very spicy mini-salami (they probably have a fancy name but I can’t remember it).

Callistemon Thu 04-Mar-21 17:02:28

Chicken and mango curry, not too hot (I hope).

I may try your recipe some time, Shandy57 but also without raisins.
My mum used to make a curry sometimes (she must have been ahead of her time) and she used to put sultanas in it.

Sicilian fish stew with sweet potato chips.

annodomini Thu 04-Mar-21 19:46:11

A cheese and mushroom omelette with a side salad. Very quick and easy.

Mystery meal. I worked late today and DH is cooking. Apparently it’s a mystery, however I’m just in shock he is cooking at all. That’s the real mystery.

Slow cooker chicken jalfrezi, made by me, that’s 2 nights running I’ve made dinner ?

Mr. B. does most of the cooking as he doesn’t trust me with naked flames or sharp objects grin

kittylester Fri 05-Mar-21 18:00:29

Rib eye steak, home made chips, garlic mushrooms and roasted cherry tomatoes! And wine!

Callistemon Fri 05-Mar-21 18:07:22

Fish Friday

Jaxjacky Fri 05-Mar-21 18:27:56

Oven fish and chips with mushy peas.

Witzend Fri 05-Mar-21 18:30:57

My curried root veg ‘stewp’, made yesterday - I just need to add some cauliflower and spinach for a few minutes. And warm up the naan bread.

Auntieflo Fri 05-Mar-21 18:42:28

Aldi's Melt in the Middle Smoked Haddock, fish cakes, with roasted frozen broccoli and cauliflower, in sesame oil.
Then banana custard, so I can eat the remainder if the custard, cold later.

TerriBull Fri 05-Mar-21 19:19:33

Fish Friday, hangover from childhood. M&S lightly dusted haddock, lemon, peas, broccoli and jacket potato. All quite boring! Tomorrow it'll be more exciting. Saturday = Curry in our house.

Witzend Mon 08-Mar-21 11:35:48

Thai-style egg fried rice with a few bits of leftover roast chicken added, and stir-fried veg on the side.

Blossoming Mon 08-Mar-21 17:34:49
