Thanks Davida for your helpful answer.

Callistemon, I do hope none of those things happen to you, try not to worry. grin

I once disposed of a pot of soup because I blitzed the sachet of bouquet garni, and another time left in the bay leaf. Was this wrong?
You can tell I chose to do Science at school instead of cookery.

Dear God are we reduced to this?

Don't worry, Callistemon, just think of it as one of your five-a-day! wink

Well if it’s anything like the apples we ate as children you’ll run the risk of a lemon tree growing in your stomach if you swallow a pip ?

I accidentally swallowed a lime pip which was in my G&T yesterday.
I'm worried now - will I be all right?
Is it poisonous?
Will it sprout inside me?
Will it grow into a tree?

I really wouldn't worry about one lemon pip. (It's not like looking for damson stones in damson jam - now that's a potential tooth-breakage alert!)

Thanks Lisagran. I might look....

This is such a stupid question. Just made hummus. I know there was at least one pip in the juice. Should I just bin it?

Another time put a strainer over the mixer bowl/ blender goblet!

That is funny EllenVannin. And she lived to tell the tale!

Not just me then Grannywannynanny.

I hasten to add I love baking.

Same here nadateturbe. I’ve had a few attempts at making hummus and given up. I just couldn’t get it right and it didn’t match up to shop bought.

nadateturbe Sun 10-Jan-21 11:53:47

I thought it would be broken up by the food processor and mixed in. And might be poisonous or cause damage. You can tell I'm a very experienced chef. blush
This is my umpteenth time and never got it right. And the amount of cleaning involved! I think I'll just stick to shop bought. Better get ny apron on....

One pip ?
That reminds me of a very posh do that my mum had been invited to years ago with brother and his now, ex. Mum was given her chosen drink---gin with a squeeze of lemon. There, floating around her glass was a pip. Horror of horrors what does she do with it ?

Rather than fish it out with her fingers where the company might notice, she let it get in her mouth then ate it rather than swallow it and perhaps choke and make a bigger spectacle of herself. Glad I wasn't there grin

You are kidding?
Pick the pip out when (if!) you find it of course. confused

GagaJo Sun 10-Jan-21 11:42:36

No! You can pick a pip out when spreading.
