Oysters. I had the chance to try one at a buffet once in New Zealand, but I looked at it and just didn't fancy it.

Chitterlings, apparently very popular in the West Country.
I've never tried them and have never wanted to.

Chitterlings - You're not missing much.

I know people who would say I am! 😲

I’ve been to Turkey many times. It wasn’t my choice but the kebabs are always overcooked resulting in them being nearly impossible to chew.

I have eaten just about all the foodstuffs mentioned on this thread and enjoyed most of them. There is only one flavour that I cannot abide and that is coffee, which, is, of course, ubiquitous. I will not enter coffee shops because of the smell.
I think I am probably unique in this, based on the number of coffee establishments on any high street! And don’t get me started on coffee cake, coffee ice cream, tiramisu etc! I still remember the horror of biting into a coffee cream chocolate by mistake as a child! Yuck!

There are heaps & heaps of things I've not tried as apart from good old fish 'n' chips I don't have take aways or eat out.
I'm also a dreadfully boring cook so fish pies, casseroles, roasts and pasta/rice dishes are the order of the day!

Except that 'fishpies, casseroles, roasts and pasta/rice ' are not remotely boring, it is what we live in and I am always trying new recipes, new ingredients in all those dishes.

Oysters
Mussels
Snails (although I wouldn't class most seafood as popular).
Kebab
Black pudding
Haggis
Kefir

There are so many people from so many different parts of the globe here we get to try almost everything. I don’t like Vietnamese coffee , too sweet but I have tried it a couple of times. On holiday recently there was a lot of French food, including delicious escargots in a garlic butter sauce but that is unusual. I don’t eat offal but it is not that common so easy to miss.

I’ve never had sushi, and I don’t intend to either. Nor black pudding.

Sushi and sashimi are delicious.

Never had a doner kebab.

Jaxjacky Wed 15-Apr-26 12:08:54

I’ll try anything, I can’t say I don’t like it, or the opposite, if I haven’t tasted it.

JamesandJon33 Wed 15-Apr-26 11:46:36

Snails, frogs legs and kebabs

I'v tried most things - once. I am excluding anything I cannot eat because I have a food intolerance or allergy,

'humbles' the original dish mincemeat is based on. Various kinds of offal and lights chopped up and cooked with sugar and lots of spices. I always see this as a medieval dish that was very wisely left in the middle ages. A way of making the inedible, edible, sort of.

I will give anything non-processed a go. You only live once and I might be missing something really delicious.

Am I the only person who doesn’t eat pasta, I did try it once many years ago and hated the feel of it on my mouth, it was slimy and I felt sick.,I was offered Spag Bol (I think it’s called) when invited to a friends for a meal, I couldn’t even look at it never mind try it even after much persuading by the hostess and other friends who informed me everybody loves
Spag Bol. I ended up having a toasted cheese sandwich which I really enjoyed.
I can’t stand curry or garlic and the smell when my next door neighbours, who seem to live on these two items are cooking, makes my stomach churn.
I love all fresh fish and prawns, cockles and mussels etc, I love sprouts, hate brocolli and cauliflower. I do enjoy a weekly KFC and before I was ill used to have a Big Mac but sadly it doesn’t agree with me now. Yes I know I’m what my family call me a funny woman, 😅 I don’t care.

I can't bring myself to eat caviar. It looks too much like sheep droppings.

Oysters, I don't think I've any desire to eat anything that comes out of the ocean raw.

I hadn't tried Nutella until recently, I wouldn't buy it for my children, but when grandchildren requested it recently, I caved in. I didn't think I'd like it, but what a revelation it's deeply moreish, I have been known to use it in sandwiching a chocolate sponge cake or two together.

I always buy some before the Gdcs are coming to stay - they like it in pancakes, among other things.
I don’t mind admitting that after they’ve left, I have often finished the substantial remains by scoffing them with a spoon!

Last time, with my waistline (such as it is) in mind, I purposely bought a smaller jar!

Never tried lobster, crab, whelks, oysters, or other shellfish. And never will.
Also have never had fish pie.
Am just not a lover of seafood in general

I can't think of anything "popular" that I haven't tried. I don't like it all but I've tasted it before dismissing it.

Not keen on doner kebab meat, whelks and white bait or the very popular in France, andouille and I stopped eating cod when I learned about cod worms.
Evidently most salt water fish contain nematodes, so fish needs to be properly cooked.

Another one who has never and will never eat kebab meat?.

Gherkins?

A friend who lives in north London, told us of a local doner kebab shop, where apparently the apparatus was dismantled for once for cleaning, only to find that the inside was swarming with maggots!
No wonder I’d never fancied it!

Skewer type kebab, OTOH, of the type I’ve often had in Cyprus, done over charcoal, in pitta bread with salad, 😋.
