I had steak Diane today for the first time in decades. We went for our weekly lunch out and discovered a wonderful restaurant! My summer pudding was delicious too. Mmm Steak Diane. Yum.

Going out tonight to the local posh Turkish Restaurant, I will probably have salmon or Dover sole.

Have leftover chicken to use up so am casseroling carrots and celery with garlic, vegetable juice, passata, Worcestershire sauce and herbs and will stir in the chicken and maybe some peas at the last minute and have with some roast potatoes. Not a dish I'd serve up to guests but fine for a Sunday evening at home.

I made myself a fritata with courgette, red pepper, tomato, potato, added eggs and put it in the oven for 20 minutes. Very filling!

A rare* roast beef tonight, with roast potatoes and sundry veggies inc. lovely fresh spring greens. I forgot to buy any parsnips or Aunt Bessie’s Yorkshires, so might have a stab at making some, not that I’ve ever had much success before.

*rare as in hardly ever, it’ll actually be medium/pink.

Ooh, that’s a favourite here, too, though I haven’t made it for quite a while Is your recipe just macaroni, milk, eggs and cheese? Plus of course S and P and I always add a good dollop of English mustard to anything cheesy.

I’ve often made it as a buffet dish, to go with cold meat and salad/coleslaw, typically soon after Christmas.

Help. Does anyone know a recipe for an Irish Stew. My grand-mother used to make it and it was delicious. My husband and I just can't seem to get it right. Can anyone help, would appreciate it.

Having not done much cooking for at least a week due to lack of appetite, have cooked us a Goan chicken curry to be had with Basmati rice for this evening. Will be having loads of water to dampen down the ever present Covid cough. On reflection should probably have cooked us some bland recuperative type of food but didn't have any such ingredients available.
