Chilli con carne with salad followed by kefir and raspberries

Grandmadinosaur Sun 04-Jul-21 20:42:12

Steak in peppercorn sauce, new potatoes and salad. Summer pudding and ice cream after.

DanniRae Sun 04-Jul-21 20:47:23

Chicken and prawn stir fry + a chocolate bar smile

Hetty58 Sun 04-Jul-21 20:49:02

No nasty flesh or dairy eating here (yuk) just a nice chickpea/spinach curry for us - followed by a vegan pudding with redcurrants fresh from the garden. I can still make lovely custard with rice milk, very nice!

Ham and beetroot brioche. Delicious. Just might have another one.

fatgran57 Mon 05-Jul-21 02:40:21

Hetty wondering how you know what custard tasted like before the advent of rice milk - or are you a newcomer to veganism? smile

Fish and Summer vegetable tagine - GH recipe which I must dig out.

Dh is out for a pub lunch today, so won’t want much later.
I will v likely make the veg soup known in this house as Dustbin, aka whatever I happen to have.
Or my version of minestrone, basically a dustbin with whatever veggies, plus tomato purée, pasta, garlic and some fresh basil.

I quite fancy that already. ?

Haggis toasties on yummy wholemeal bread from our local family run bakery, topped with a slice of cheddar. It’s frozen haggis unfortunately, so something of an experiment. It may not be as delicious as the ones we’ve had in The Stein Inn but I’m sure Mr. B will use his best culinary skills.

Chicken madras fermenting nicely in the slow cooker, but we won’t be eating until late as it’s so hot here today!

Witzend Fri 16-Jul-21 18:19:26

Bolognaise sauce from a recent batch-cook out of the freezer, with red chilli and kidney beans added, in tortilla wraps with salad and grated cheese.

Will probably eat in the garden - very warm here today!

Ooh Witzend that sounds lovely! You’ve given me an idea for tomorrow.

NotAGran55 Fri 16-Jul-21 18:35:35

Sea bass with lemon caper sauce , rice & peas .

muse Fri 16-Jul-21 18:56:20

Dressed Cornish crab, mixed leaves salad with French dressing, sliced tomatoes, freshly boiled beetroot and crusty bread. Fishmonger said he only had naked crab. ? love my fishmonger.
Melon and stem ginger to follow.
Blood orange gin and tonic before.

muse Fri 16-Jul-21 19:00:18

Oh! MrM doesn’t like crab so he’s having his slutty supper meal. Baked beans , bacon, sliced sautéed left over jacket potato, fried egg and mushrooms. He’ll join me for G+T.

Having it outside. ?

Blossoming Fri 16-Jul-21 19:43:03

I love crab but Mr. B doesn’t.

Jaxjacky Fri 16-Jul-21 20:19:09

Chinese, delivered, one chicken curry, one chicken with black bean. I couldn’t only eat half of mine, too warm

nanna8 Sat 17-Jul-21 11:14:39

Chicken, sweet corn, carrots and potatoes cooked in the air fryer. Figs and strawberries for dessert. Nice glass of Margaret river Chardonnay to cheer us up because we are in lockdown.

Redhead56 Sat 17-Jul-21 11:26:12

I made Aubergine and courgette Parmigiana with feta rather than mozzarella. Using my home grown veg and garlic bread with herbs from the garden.

Witzend Sat 17-Jul-21 11:53:31

I have a chicken to roast, but given the temp here today, I’m now dithering as to whether to have it hot, with the usual, or cold with potato salad etc.
If I ask dh he’ll want it hot, with roast potatoes. Which is probably easier - not sure I’ve got enough mayonnaise for potato salad anyway.

MiniMoon Sat 17-Jul-21 15:49:32

Breaded chicken goujons (home made), chips and peas (frozen). We have DGS 2 staying for a sleepover.

Blossoming Tue 03-Aug-21 18:07:04

Quiche Lorraine and salad, it’s hot here!

Aldom Tue 03-Aug-21 18:31:11

Tuna pasta with onion, mixed peppers, sweetcorn. Half a can condensed mushroom soup, a little mayonnaise and Greek yoghurt. Seasoning. Delicious. And quick and easy smile

Witzend Wed 04-Aug-21 12:01:26

Dh is away, and since I have leftovers after Gdcs were staying, probably half a large jacket potato warmed up, with the remains of a) Minions tinned spaghetti shapes (yes, I know they’re rubbish), b) a third of a tin of baked beans, and c) the remains of the grated cheese they had on baked pots last night.

I do however have quite a number of luscious M&S English cherries that need eating up, so that’s something healthy at least.

Jaxjacky Wed 04-Aug-21 12:52:25

Chicken casserole, new spuds from the allotment and broccoli.

Redhead56 Wed 04-Aug-21 13:15:33

I made veg curry for DH and Scouse for me. All the veg in both meals is from my garden and enough for two nights meals.
