All this talk of food supplies - what's everyone having for lunch?

I've got a couple of crab cakes defrosting, to have with salad.

Soup - a bought one from Sainsbury lentil dhal I think and a yogurt or nectarine possibly both had watching a recording of Bargain Hunt. Followed up with a coffee. Chicken salad and melon for dinner.

Nothing as had breakfast too late - more of a brunch fealty of two brioche rolls, a banana and a peach.

I boiled an egg, had it in a low gi bread sandwich, with lashings of salad cream!

And a mug of milky coffee.

A tuna, mayo and salad sandwich, made by DH. Eaten on our knees as I’m busy at the kitchen table wrapping Aero bites in coloured fondant icing for DGS2’s birthday cake. As you do. grin

We had ham and wholegrain mustard sandwich, a few crisps and a lovely crunchy pear. Oh, and two cups of tea.

Goat’s cheese mini oven bakes with Yorkshire chutney.

Maggiemaybe, wondered why you were on your knees eating lunch until I reread your post and realised I had misunderstood!

Marmite on 2 small slices of toast ( sourdough)

Whitewavemark2 Wed 30-Jun-21 14:41:40

Soft roll with cheese and Christmas chutney?. Banana.

Ladyleftfieldlover Wed 30-Jun-21 14:43:08

Leftover chicken and pasta bake reheated. I’d put some sweet corn in it too. Then I had an iced lolly. We are going out for Steak Night this evening.

BigBertha1 Wed 30-Jun-21 14:49:43

Cake now I think.

Kate1949 Wed 30-Jun-21 14:51:10

A crusty roll (one of those part baked/bake yourself ones) with corned beef and salad.

grin I am nearly (on my knees) now, Claretjan, as I’ve moved on to moulding fondant Roblox characters, as instructed by the birthday boy. I think they’re supposed to look like him. I flatter myself they will do if viewed by a short-sighted man with a squint on a galloping horse.

Toasted crumpets with peanut butter followed by an apple. Then two bakewell slices with mug if tea ?

A niece came for lunch yesterday. We’d been out until very late the day before so in the morning I went to M&S for spicy chicken wings, lemon sole goujons, mini pork pies, a bag of salad a ciabatta, and some strawberries and peaches.

I purposely bought more than needed, so dh and I had the leftovers last night, with jacket potatoes.

And for lunch today I had the leftover leftovers.?
Waste not want not….

School dinner in this house! ? Turkey twizzlers, home made chips and salad. DH had his twizzlers in a burger bun. I'm trying to cut down on the carbs, so I didn't bother with the bun.

This lunchtime I met with my NWR group in the park. We each brought our own picnic, extra chairs and a folding table. My sandwiches were mature cheddar with sweet pickle. A banana. Orange juice with Soda water.

Witzend Tue 06-Jul-21 14:04:55

Some leftover chilli from the other day in a tortilla.

Dh almost invariably has carrots, hummus, sundry other salad and a hard boiled egg. Always gets it himself.
He is a creature of habit.

I poached myself an egg and had it on hot buttered toast. Then I had a thin slice of chocolate cake. I made it back in the dark days of the first lockdown. The recipe is from Bee’s cookbook and has buttermilk in it. I defrosted it over the weekend when my son and his family came over. He took half back with him.
