Does anyonene else enjoy a nibble once in bed for the night? I love a bit of chocolate. Green and Black's Almond tonight...is it just me. Teeth cleaning before settling to sleep of course

I never eat or even have a cuppa in bed, just my glass of water to out in my bedside table. If I'm ill I have to get up to get something, but I'm ok lying along the sofa with something to eat, but not my bed.

Porridge and proper coffee are made every day by DH who eats at the table but me in bed.
Since we were married whenever one or other can't sleep we get up and make coffee and a biscuit have a read and then try to sleep again.
I was never allowed to eat in bed as a child, as someone else said "The lady muck", syndrome .

My late mother read that a few squares of dark chocolate can help you sleep! I don’t know if there was any truth in it. She always kept some in her bedside drawer to eat in the night if necessary. I smiled when I found some in her drawer after she had died. It wouldn’t be any help to me as I have to eat the whole bar if I start!!!!!!

I love munching crisps in bed, or chocolate or digestive biscuits and cheese. With a drink of green tea with lemon.

I hate eating in bed, never have done it not even as a child, hate the crumbs and bits of food, a really bad habit.

Cuckooz Sat 17-Jul-21 11:56:48

No. Never eat in bed.

Tinydancer Sat 17-Jul-21 12:01:19

This had me burst out laughing very loudly, builders next door must think I'm a bit odd! Still smiling.

Can't eat in bed, I've never found breakfast in bed a treat but on the rare occasion it's happened I've gone along with it. Can't disappoint a lovley gesture.

When I eat in bed I make sure there are no dropped crumbs or bits of food, just as I would at the table.

Miss adventure, we must be schoolmates, we used to have midnight feasts at school decades ago, I just never grew up, and still have them, well I did until a few weeks ago when I got as far as downstairs to go foraging for feasts and blacked out before I got to the kitchen. Same happened a couple of weeks later (turns out my blood pressure drops through the floor), & seeing as it's a well known secret in our house that I feast I can't get to my mystery treats anymore.

MissAdventure Sat 17-Jul-21 12:08:54

smile
You could do yourself a packed lunch to take to bed.
Don't miss out!

NanaPlenty Sat 17-Jul-21 12:13:19

Only if I’m unwell and someone makes it for me !

Pippa22 Sat 17-Jul-21 12:13:26

Without disclosing too much about myself the only thing I like to do in bed is sleep…

Tinydancer Sat 17-Jul-21 12:20:23

My earlier comment was in reply to Miss Adventure. The burger prised from mother's hand. I thought I'd clicked reply.

Bea65 Sat 17-Jul-21 12:23:13

Love it when my daughter visits and on bdays ..she brings me coffee and a warm croissant or a pancake..such a treat..

Riggie Sat 17-Jul-21 12:27:54

My husband happily brings me a cuppa in bed in the mornings (sometimes two if I have a long lie in) smile, I'd love a piece of toast too, but he moans if I eat in the bed!! The only time it's "allowed" is if I am poorly.

MissAdventure Sat 17-Jul-21 12:30:43

You'll have to be poorly, then make a miraculous recovery. smile

Granny1810 Sat 17-Jul-21 12:43:15

I do like a nibble in bed ?

DanniRae Sat 17-Jul-21 12:59:07

Oh you are awful Granny1810 (as Dick Emery used to say grin)

SueDonim Sat 17-Jul-21 13:02:56

God, no. I can’t bear eating in bed. The only time I’ve done it is if I’ve been too ill to get up or when I had severe morning sickness.

Harris27 Sat 17-Jul-21 13:10:08

I take a glass of wine to bed. That and a good book.

Harmonypuss Sat 17-Jul-21 13:13:21

@Lucca

We used to say about somebody fanciable “I wouldn’t kick him out of bed for eating crisps”

The original saying is:

"I wouldn't kick him out of bed for FARTING"

but I guess eating crisps is a good replacement ?

Pedwards Sat 17-Jul-21 13:18:15

?sounds like a fun house to live in

hugshelp Sat 17-Jul-21 13:41:11

No, can't bear it. (for me and my bed, find for anyone that likes it)
