before anyone panics about their dog, it's just tinned peas as they are kept in salty water

^ dogs can eat peas. Green peas, snow peas, sugar snap peas, and garden or English peas are all OK for dogs to find in their bowl on occasion. Peas have several vitamins, minerals, and are rich in protein and high in fiber. You can feed your dog fresh or frozen peas, but avoid canned peas with added sodium^

How on earth can you spread butter on a weetabix without it disintegrating ?

Incidentally in Australia they are Weetbix. (No “a”). My DGS falls about laughing when I talk about weetAbix.

When DH is working at the Co-op, I sometimes make myself a banana curry. Its delicious, and I came across the recipe (there are several) when looking for ideas to use up some bananas,before they went mushy. It's best made with firm slightly under ripe bananas.
I too love cheese toasties, but I make then in the baby George as I don't have a toastie machine.

Your punishment is two glasses of crisp Saumer some gravadlax or good quality smoked salmon on lightly toasted sourdough spread with a Mayo,lemon and horseradish mix..

Please follow with a wild mushroom risotto or steak frites salad and a cheeseboard of British cheeses with Bath Oliver biscuits and Ballymaloe House tomato relish.

You must expunge these atrocities from your store cupboards immediately.

We used to spend two weeks each summer at my Granny's house which had a large and prolific garden. We'd be set to shell peas which were delicious but I liked to chew the juicy pods as well. 70+ years later, the memory makes my mouth water.

I dont eat much in the way of strange items/combinations but I once Grated some cheese to put in a sandwich with pickle (fits together better that way) and my husband who is Belgian was gobsmacked. He had never seen that before. Other English things like Marmite or our spongy white bread confuse him too. Oh, and in Belgium there are no 'Belgian buns' as the English call them.

I've just used some stale french bread, cut in half, spread mutti tomato puree over, chopped heritage tomatoes of all colours, chopped spring onions and topped with black bomber cheese, olive oil and parsley, baked for 15 minutes

I hope that meets with your approval Sago, I now apparently need wine....

Weetabix with butter

I prefer cold rice pudding, custard and potatoes.
Salad cream sandwiches.
Full English breakfast followed by a bowl of cereal rather than the other way round ( a very rare treat).
I like fizzy drinks to be almost flat and at room temperature.

But frozen!

That used to be my job as a child, shelling the peas, sitting in the garden in a deckchair.

In Finland people bought brown paper bags of peas in their shells and ate them as a snack in the street or with a drink. Much healthier than a bag of crisps.

I used to enjoy cheese and marmalade sandwiches. Someone mentioned breakfast. I always have the hot part first. So toast before cereal, cooked breakfast before cereal or pastries.

If I have a large breakfast (only when on holiday) I'll have a yogurt first then a cooked breakfast.

However, for lunch at home I'll have the main savoury bit (salad or soup etc) first then sometimes a yogurt.

I've only just thought that might be a bit odd.

Mine meets Fanny’s criteria - unhealthy and downright common, also very difficult to get hold of, I have to scour the supermarkets every year, but I’m delighted to say I have already stockpiled two boxes for Christmas 2021 against the odds - Cheese Footballs.

DS1 loved frozen chips straight from the freezer when he was teething.

Digestive biscuits with tomato soup. Boiled eggs shelled and chopped up in a cup with butter.

My husband shells peas - one for him, one for the pot. Takes forever to get enough to cook.
