I’ve just got to find some Cheese Moments and my quest will be over!

I love twiglets. I prefer it to a box of chocolates.
You can make blancmange using cornflour and add your preferred flavour and colour. probably cheaper too.

Marmite crisps, and paprika crisps are my downfall

I love spicy tomato flavour snaps but rarely find them in supermarkets. The last time I got some was last year on holiday in Norfolk from a newspaper kiosk. I bought six big bags!

Aldi's Pops are really tasty, and lower in fat, which means you can eat a few bags in one evening

We found them in Boyes for a while the only shop we could ever see them however last time I checked I didn't see them but it was a different one than I normally shop in so could be that.

I found some chocolate covered rice cakes in Marks which are ok and low calorie. I'm dieting so a tasty snack with an afternoon chop is very welcome.

I remember my mom and I eating a cube of ‘raw’ jelly every day to strengthen our nails.
I think that the science behind that was somewhat flawed!

I admire your self control! On the odd occasion when I buy a block of jelly cubes (preferably blackcurrant) I scoff the whole lot in a few hours.

Re blancmange powders, PPs, do you want a particular flavour?
I still make chocolate blancmange now and then with just cornflour, milk, sugar and cocoa powder.
It’s an old favourite of dh.
In our house it was called chocolate pudding, and served warm.

While we are here; there’s a mystery desert that has been bothering me for a while.

It was similar to blancmance, and also crème caramel.
It was an orangey caramel brown colour; and really, really glossy.
Can anyone help?

Cremola?

FannyCornforth Tue 22-Mar-22 13:38:56

Ken, I’ve googled Cremola and I can’t find a decent picture of it.
As I say, it’s most memorable feature was its glossiness ?
I think that it was quite upmarket, as far as these things are!

I think it may be too yellowFanny

My Mum used to make semolina, melt cubes of jelly in it and beat together. We called it Semolina Jelly ?

There used to be a Worcester Sauce flavour Twiglet - they were gorgeous, but I don't like the "ordinary" one.

Those Scampi Fries with Lemon were lovely too, and I was mad about cheese footballs, are they still available?

Sadly, cheese footballs only seem to be around at Christmas, in the tubs.

I miss Worcester sauce Twiglets and Cheese Moments. A lot.

I have been to B&M this morning and they are selling tubs of cheese footballs. I did smile when I saw them and thought of you. smile

One of Symington’s Table Creams?
I remember seeing those in shops aeons ago. Probably when I had supermarket holiday jobs as a student. My mother never bought any.
