What's for dinner today?

Haggis with carrots, neeps and tatties, gravy to pour on. It’s chilly here today after the lovely warm weather we’ve been having.

Cottage pie with peas. I plan the week’s meals on a Monday and that’s what we fancied (and I hope still do!). Enough for two more portions.

Lamb steak with a broad bean, avocado and watercress salad

Family barbecue today. Lovely!

Salmon, with an M&S dill and lemon sauce, new potatoes and watercress.

Quick meal tonight as we have a busy afternoon.
Local ham, egg and chips.

Shepherds pie with extra veg tonight.

Roasted root veg with sauce. Black eye pea salad on greens with tomatoes, fruit, breads, and delicious apple blueberry galette.

Lamb meatballs, Moroccan-style, with roasted vegetables 🍆🌶️🧄🥒 🍅 from the freezer.

Liver and bacon. One small potato plus broccoli and broad beans, No room for pudding.

Chicken and chips!

A laboural day .. Stopped at Poncelet in Gregorio Marañon for a cheese platter ..

Middle-Eastern lentil stuffed peppers (Inspired by a recipe from Yotam Ottalenghi). Green salad, bread, fruit. Apple cake.

Wednesday the 5th of July:

Empanadas filled with white cheese from Oxacaca ..

Haddock with cucumber, mango and avocado salsa - with brown rice and very tasty it was too!

Very unusually, I haven't felt hungry all day therefore decided to abstain. Feeling very virtuous (and lazy).

Tesco cheese and onion quiche, baked beans and jacket potatoes followed by fresh raspberries and a meringue.

Home cooked gammon, homemade potato salad, homegrown tomatoes.
Very easy to prepare and enjoyable.

I made madras style turkey burgers with mini veg bhaj and yoghurt dip

Shepherds pie with lamb left over from the roast a couple of days ago. Cauliflower and beans from the garden.

Teriyaki salmon and egg fried rice.

Portobello Mushrooms with Pearled Barley and Preserved Lemon, tray bake marinated tofu, green salad, bread.
