Hogs pudding (like black pudding, but it's white) with chips and peas/beans. And possibly a fried egg.

Nothing for ever and ever.
After yesterdays birthday bash, celebrating FOUR birthdays with champagne, wine, a huge meal including 2 desserts and 2 birthday cakes, I am on the Zero calorie diet until I keel over with starvation or fit into my jeans again, whichever is first. 🤐

I've been overdoing it a bit recently and last night out at dinner was persuaded to have a second helping of potato dauphinoise - not something you can turn down really.

I'd regained the 9lbs I lost with The Lurgy, plus an extra pound since yesterday!

Pot roast (brisket), roast potatoes, cauliflower and broccoli in cheese sauce, gluten free bought Yorkshire puddings as my GDs gluten free friend is here and stir fried sweetheart cabbage.
I am making the cheese sauce with cornflour for the first time but not very happy/confident about it.

You will find it makes a much better smoother sauce. I always use cornflour in preference to ordinary flour.

Our dinner today is roast chicken with sage onion and sausage meat stuffing, sprouts, parsnips, pigs in blankets and cranberry sauce. Might have 1 potato each

Roast spare rib of pork, roast potatoes, roasted carrots, cauliflower cheese and gravy.

I buy frozen cauliflower cheese from Sainsbury's, Ann. It is gf and you just need to shake out as much as you need and bake. I add a grating of nutmeg and more grated cheese. I can thoroughly recommend it.

In the slow cooker today I have some lamb neck fillet with a sprig of rosemary, oyster and shiitake mushrooms, carrots, parsnip, celeriac, garlic, a couple of anchovies, a spoonful of Marmite and a splash of Henderson's Relish.

It will probably keep me going for a few days.

Chicken thighs in stock with mushrooms, crème fraîche at the end, new potatoes, broccoli, carrots and cabbage.

Roast beef (slices purchased from a local deli who cook their own meat on the premise) )I’m in & out today so this will save me time and it’s always delicious. I’ll add roast potatoes & roast parsnips & carrots all cooked in the air fryer & I’ll also have a few sprouts, gravy and a dollop of horseradish sauce.
I agree Kittylester the frozen Cauliflower cheese from Sainsburys is good, so is Tesco’s and it’s such a time saver.

Lasagne al forno, chips and broccoli. The lasagne and chips bought by DH. I made scones for tea which he has had for his afternoon tea.

Leg of lamb and various trimmings. Lemon tart for pudding served with cream.

Thanks kitty that sounds ideal for when F has a meal with us, I could just keep it in.
Her mum doesn’t cook and she loves a roast on Sunday.
I must say the cauliflower/broccoli mix is ready for the oven and looks and smells good, but I am all for any shortcuts.

The Tesco one isn't gf, I believe.

Our dinner was lovely.
The cauliflower/broccoli cheese made with cornflour was really nice although I will look for the Sainsbury’s frozen one.
For the purists look away now,our brisket from Aldi, cooked for 5 hours in the slow cooker with no liquid,just salt and pepper was tender and delicious.
A triumph all round.

Beef curry (in the slow-cooker all day), rice and naan bread

Left over cold rare rib of beef, with bubble and squeak and horseradish. And left over apple and pear crumble with half an almond Magnum as I've run our of ice-cream. Lots of walking this afternoon.

Cold roast pork from yesterday, fried potatoes and onions with coleslaw.

Pepperoni pizza, it’s been a long, long day.😖

Salted caramel ice cream.

Cold roast chicken and ham with left over pigs in blankets and a huge salad.

Smoked salmon with hard boiled eggs and salad. DH also had potato salad bought from Tesco, I don't care for it.
