Do you ever think that the food you eat is not safe?

I think the whole thing is probably inconsistent. I had forgotten about ham hocks. I grew up with ham being cooked and gammon raw. Ham hocks probably went to meat processors.

I ordered one for lunch today - it was like facing a joint on my plate 😁
I've learnt my lesson

Callistemon21 When I get a ham hock, I use it as a Sunday joint for 2 and it usually is enough for 2 Sundays, plus stock for soup.

Ham hock for us tomorrow, just defrosting it now.

We had ham hock tonight. I can't imagine how MOnica gets two meals out of one, we get one with a bit left over for sandwiches or perhaps a risotto.

The lentils are in the cooking liquid now, plus some left over potato and left over mustard sauce. My lentil soups are always unique... never the same twice...

I brought a doggie box home so DH had some for his supper.

Sounds like my cakes. I blame the oven. 🎂

I can’t imagine the meat from a ham hock making four lunches. Or perhaps we’re greedy.

I wonder whether Monica means something different by a ham hock than some others do?
