Lovely. And the quiche looks delicious. What’s in it?
Good Morning Saturday 6th June 2026
One in five new teachers leaving.
28 / 11. Tuesday.
Sometimes, my husband and I enjoy having brunch during the week at home instead of a typical Menu del Día as we live in The Madrid Capital.
Eggs Benedict is quite versatile and can be prepared with either Smoked Salmon or Bacon or Ham. Eggs Florentine is quite a healthy alternative and French toast is always quite endearing.
Lovely. And the quiche looks delicious. What’s in it?
Sunday Brunch today the 10th of December.
Spanish Omelette and a Cardoon & Leek Soup.
Today would have been my husband’s 77th birthday. I decided to honour his memory by putting the oven on, as I did most Sundays at lunch time, but rarely since he died earlier this year. I cooked a pork steak surrounded by roast veg- potatoes, carrots, parsnip, served with sprouting broccoli and gravy. To make good use of the oven I also made cheese scones, which he loved.
Cabbie21 well done. I hope you enjoyed your feast.
Well done Cabbie. Your husband has been honoured.
Thank you.

All our best wishes for a Healthy, Successful & Happy New Year 2024 just ahead.
31st - Sunday.
A quick light Pasta for all 9 of us .. ( My husband, myself, my twins daughters & their husbands and our 3 grandchildren ).
I like both lunch and brunch. Both are delicious.
Certainly! Brunch and lunch offer a variety of options. Here are some ideas:
Brunch:
Avocado toast with poached eggs
Smoked salmon bagel with cream cheese
Belgian waffles with fresh berries and whipped cream
Spinach and feta omelette
Banana pancakes with maple syrup
Breakfast burrito with scrambled eggs, black beans, and salsa
Greek yogurt parfait with granola and mixed fruits
Lunch:
Grilled chicken Caesar salad
Caprese sandwich with fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, and basil
Quinoa salad with roasted vegetables and feta
Shrimp and avocado salad
Margherita pizza with a side of mixed greens
Turkey and cranberry wrap
Lentil soup with crusty bread
I think OP means what are you having today, not a comprehensive list of possible dishes.
Potato curry, salad, naan, clementines, nuts, and choc.

Are you writing a cookery book?

We are celebrating the 3 Kings Day on Saturday the 6th.
Today, on the 5th, we have gone to purchase the renowned Cake of The 3 Kings.
This tart is prepared with Bread flour, glazed fruits and in some cases, pure dairy whip cream interiors. Inside this cake is a King and a Bean. This tart dates back to before Medieval Times and has had its evolutions.

So is that your brunch/lunch?
I thought that was the point of the thread - not a comprehensive cookery course.
Moi, cock-a-leekie with prunes - a recently acquired taste.

We make something a bit like that for Epiphany, perhaps same idea. Simple stollen with little whole almonds, on ribbons, for the children to pull out. One ribbon has a special almond (the King).
Vintage cheddar cheese and water biscuits…
