Comfort food? It was simply jacket potato done in the oven (not microwave) with lashings of butter. I loved coming home from school to that oozing smell.

Cooking that was meant to be…I must have been thinking of the butter!!

My mother's steak and kidney pie, have never qite been able to reproduce it!

Chicken soup

Cheese and potato pie with baked beans or tinned tomatoes on top

Bread and butter pudding

Jam roly poly

Porridge

Home-made stew and dumplings

Ground rice pudding

Hot buttered toast. (with scrambled eggs to add a bit more nutrition).
