Completely agree. ! Get bored with eating. I feel your pain
A tasty curry / Thai / Chinese cooked by some one ELSE when I’m starving is about the only time it does it for me
Shingles and pneumococcal vaccines side effects
Does anyone else get bored with eating or is it just me??
I cooked dinner tonight, normally my favourite, and just picked at it and ended up throwing it away.
This isn’t a new thing.
I find food boring and is just something I have to do.

I love cooking and baking and eating!!!
Have you had a check up lately with your GP? Not trying to worry you, but when I was having problems with my heart I totally went off food. As I really need to lose weight it was no bad thing. Now everything has been stabilised with medication my appetite has gone back to normal. Might be worth just checking it out?
Better to throw it away than eat what you do not want. There absolutely no virtue in being a human dustbin.

I live alone and absolutely never get bored with eating.
I enjoy planning my meals to ensure I get plenty of variety . I relish being able to look after myself properly, getting the right nutrients for my body to stay as healthy as possible to serve me well through life.
I don't eat ultra processed foods and enjoy making my meals from scratch to ensure that they are delicious.
We mustn't think we are not worth it.
We absolutely are!
I love this Happygirl79!
The new air fryer gadget has sparked interest and is really so easy and quick. Sparked interest in meals again.
On occasion I'd treat myself with a full roast, the whole works, bottle of wine and an afternoon film prepared with after dinner chocolates too. 😁
Yes, we had a full roast dinner last weekend, all cooked in my small saucepan type air fryer.
I have also picked up a recipe for making and cooking Yorkshire puddings in small batches, ideal for just the 2 of us. I have yet to try it, but I passed it on the DD who said it worked well.
I really identify with all of the above. Is this something that comes with age......not eating and not enjoying food. I feel my food/cooking repetoire would be more pallatable and exciting if only I could afford to eat in the restaurants I would like to eat in, just occasionally (oh how I ache for it, but my meagre pension doesn't run to it) thus not enabling me to experience new things. I feel like I have run the gauntlet, not only with food, but different kitchens, different dining rooms, a plethora of restaurants over the years and a lifetime of different friends and acquaintances, and I seem to have spent so long "stuffing a mushroom" (an expression from the vegetarian 60's) in my own kitchen, that if I had the choice now, I would never cook again. I feel like I have "done my bit" over the years and yet always used to love eating, cooking and entertaining. I likened it to "enjoying life". If people enjoyed food, they invariably enjoyed life and sex! Those things went hand in hand. At the tender age of 70 I am now stuck at a table with a gobbling vegetarian who seems to eat 2 inches from his plate. Worse, he dribbles and loses food down his front and drinks too much whilst having the radio blaring out. Last night, I removed myself and went and sat at a table where it was quiet and I could eat at my pace and enjoyed it far more. Occasionally the family descend but I am so out of touch with eating and cooking that it becomes a chore to dish up something substantial. Yes, appetites and enthusiasm become less and less. I remember working on a Kibbutz, where there was a communal dining room. Oh, how I envy that now. Okay, so we had chicken every single day, but it would be lovely to go to a decent place for a meal where there was freshly cooked food and fresh salads to eat. Simple and easy. I just can't get excited by the food on offer in my local locality. It's all frozen and fried. Or pizza.....or fish and chips, or things with bread, lots of it. There isn't one single place where you could eat a fresh meal......and that is just what I crave these days........... Something fresh and simple.
Get an adult son to move back in with you to kick start your interest in lots of food. Mine did and I've gone from cheese & biscuits for my Sunday 'dinner' to a full roast, vegetarian version for me.
What a sad read this is, that people don’t like or want to eat.
Or can’t eat like they used to; or are depressed; or hate to cook; or don’t have a partner who enjoys; or might even be malnourished without realizing it.
To me the ❤️ of a home is the kitchen, where your staff of life (food, bread) is located. Whether you are alone or married I wish you could find solace in nourishing your body and soul.
Here’s what I’ve learned during my life watching others - when you are depressed or blue, your spirit is telling you you’re really just hungry. Please feed me.
I’m not advocating overeating or binge eating - just proper, healthful food. It could take you off your excessive vitamins and could even recalculate your medicines.
True.
You can use food to bring joy to yourself and others or you can use food to snuff out the best parts of you. Please love yourself.
Gundy I couldn't agree more.
As someone who has suffered from depression for many years, I can tell you that my body isn’t asking for food. The tendency when depressed or simply miserable is to comfort eat - the wrong things and too much of them - which does no good whatsoever.

It doesn't work like that.
Generally I try to eat healthily but I'm a comfort eater.
Some people lose pounds when they are anxious, I put it on.
It's only usually carbohydrates or sweet things which the body craves when anxious.

DH normally flinches if I mention any new kitchen gadget but even he, unprompted, suggested we should get an airfryer.
Must investigate as I'm really going off cooking lately (but not eating).
I agree with you! Sometimes I think I could just do with a lovely egg and bacon sarnie or a chicken tikka or whatever, go toddling off to the shops, look at the containers and think ... nah, can't be arsed!
So I'll have an extra cup of PG Tips or some other liquids instead of physical food.
I do find food boring except ice cream and yoghurts which I'm always scoffing!
One of the symptoms of loss of appetite is anaemia. Have you had a blood test recently?
Totally bored with food. If I feel hungry, I eat whatever is there, whether I like it or not. For me, eating is a chore, like housework. I cook for my family and they love food. Me, not at all.
