I’m permanently trying to lose weight so try to avoid carbs. I’m also vegetarian. My problem is finding satisfying proteins.
Lentils and pulses are good but carbohydrates, cheese and nuts are full of fats.I don’t like tofu.
Is there anything I haven’t thought of which will fill me up without adding weight?

Vegetarians do not eat fish.. This really grates me when people say they're vegetarians but eat fish,
Though when I say I'm a vegetarian and asked if I eat fish grates me too...

Sorry to disagree yet again. That may be your view but it is not my experience. If it grates, tough - it’s not an unreasonable question. Perhaps you should become a vegan to avoid confusion.

I am vegetarian and in the past (not recently) have been asked if I eat chicken - i.e. fowl.

There is no confusion, it’s as plain as day. Vegetarian = no meat or fish. Going vegan won’t solve the problem either, the questions are even more ludicrous smile

True Gilly!
I suppose more people understand these days than they did in the 1970s though!

I agree vegetarians eat no meat and no fish.

Thanks for all your replies.
Vegetarian = no meat or fish.
Healthy diet = as few Ultra Processed Foods as possible, so no Quorn.
