The streets are a sorry sight
With drunken riff raff
To tarry’s a gaffe

I long for a much quieter life

I long for a much quieter life
With neither fear nor strife

I long for a much quieter life
With neither fear nor strife
That peaceful, even keel

I long for a much quieter life
With neither fear nor strife
That peaceful, even keel
Time for my soul to heal

I long for a much quieter life
With neither fear nor strife
That peaceful, even keel
Time for my soul to heal
To feel me, not just somebody's wife
