I have a large library (1000+) of all sorts of paper books, including novels, I can't be doing with kindles. I read what I feel like reading that day.

Whats your perfect summer evening?

Having a friend around to sit in the garden drinking wine and nattering about old times.

What is your earliest childhood memory? Mine is at 4 reading a book my grandmother bought for me.

I think I recall being in a big cot with high sides and jumped up and down very vigorously which tipped it sideways. Did I really do that?

Did your mum wear a particular fragrance which reminds you of her?

My mum used to wear "4711" cologne and then in later years Estee Lauder "Youth Dew".

What reminds you of your mum?
(I have a tablespoon of hers that is worn at an angle because of all the stirring. It is more precious to me than anything else I have of hers and I use it most days )

Flashbacks of abuse, lies and manipulation. Wasn't a great childhood.

Are you tired of all the coverage of euro 2020 yet?

Every time I see a swallow I think she is there watching me. When she died about 100 swallows circled her house in London. It was amazing , never happened before or since.

How long do you spend on the internet every day?

Too long, not sure how many hours, but my IPad is attached to my hand. I do read a lot of material novels though.

Do you think it matters if a couple have different religions?

I think it would matter to some; and not matter to others.
Some people may actually really value it.
I don't really have a faith (sadly), I'd quite like it if my partner / husband did.
In reality DH is a heathen!

Yes, I'll be watching, but don't fancy their chances (eternal pessimist!)

A liberty bodice, all those silly rubber buttons

Are you happy with current Covid restrictions?

No, I think they should have stuck to the release schedule. Many people here (large Northern city) have given up on masks and social distancing anyway.

Do you enjoy shopping for food or consider it a chore? I have always hated food shopping. I do it all online.

I like to choose my own fresh fruit and veg and I enjoy looking out for bargain offers on things we like or seeing things I never knew we wanted, and leaving them or buying them.
Besides, when it’s pouring with rain or freezing, I can walk over a mile in the supermarket.

Do you have any trees in planters and do they grow well?

We have 3 bay trees which are doing very well but in very large pots. We do water and feed them well.

What are your favourite shoes?

Tan ankle boots .

Have you been to Portugal ?

Yes - highly recommend

A helicopter and lessons. I always wanted to fly.

Anyone else going to France this summer?

I would love to go to Paris later this year but somehow I dont think it will come off. Possibly next spring.

Do you enjoy watching Wimbledon? Have you ever been in person?

I hate almost all sport.

I don't 'get' sport at all, I rarely understand what's going on!
I like certain sports on in the background on TV - golf, tennis, cricket - I find them calming.

I went to Edgebaston to watch the tennis when I was a teenager with school. It's the sort of warmup for Wimbledon.
I was bored silly.
