Welcome to the Fourth Thread, Questioners and Answerers!

Are you feeling Autumnal?

henetha Wed 06-Oct-21 11:22:31

Um. I am not absolutely sure what characteristics an obsessive personality displays. But I don't think so.

Do you take short cuts with cooking? Like using ready made pastry, or dumpling mix for instance? Have you a favourite short cut?

grannyrebel7 Wed 06-Oct-21 11:30:35

I am in touch with my school friends. There are 6 of us and I consider them my only true friends. I have never done a 50 mile walk, but my DH did a 30 mile one three weeks ago in London.

grannyrebel7 Wed 06-Oct-21 11:52:16

Forgot to ask a question! Has anyone done a zip wire? I have & loved it!

DanniRae Wed 06-Oct-21 12:55:48

Yes henetha I do use short cuts with my cooking.
Microwave rice
Bought pastry
Frozen mashed potatoes
Frozen dumplings
Frozen chips
........And any other shortcuts that I see at the supermarket! grin

Do you cook the same meals on the same day of the week? We always have burger and chips (cooked by me) on Wednesday and Mr R cooks on Saturday and I have fishcake, chips and peas. (BTW we don't live on chips - just those 2 meals)

crazyH Wed 06-Oct-21 13:09:57

I live on my own, so no set times or set meals. The only definite is Fish Fridays and usually Mullet from Tesco’s Fish Counter.

Beautiful day today - I’m cleaning my car. Do you have your car valeted or do you do it yourself?

TillyTrotter Wed 06-Oct-21 16:19:28

I always vacuum & polish the inside of the car, and let the car wash at Tesco wash the outside.
Reminds me - it all needs doing!

Did you ever go to a Circus, when animals were allowed to perform in them?

grandMattie Wed 06-Oct-21 19:24:29

Yes, horses…. But I much preferred the now defunct Cirque du Soleil, no animals just people

Do you like “the Simpsons”?

BBbevan Wed 06-Oct-21 19:48:13

Nope, never watched it.

British or American comedy?

hollysteers Wed 06-Oct-21 20:17:22

British, although American comedy is slick.

You are stuck for the rest of your life with the last thing you ate. What is it?
(Coronation chicken panini for me)

crazyH Wed 06-Oct-21 20:44:45

French Toast

Has anybody in your family or circle been tested positive for Covid? My 19 year old grandson son and he has to isolate. Can you imagine a teenager having to isolate ?

Scentia Wed 06-Oct-21 21:00:22

I tested positive as did my DD and her family isolation is hard, especially if you feel well. He will do it!

Have you started Christmas shopping yet?

biglouis Wed 06-Oct-21 23:39:30

I dont celebrate Christmas so I dont do any!

Have you ever been to a spiritualist seance?

I got involved with a group when I was in my 20s and "things" happened but I left after 6 months as it was a difficult journey.

FannyCornforth Thu 07-Oct-21 06:38:44

No. I’d be terrified too. I think that it would really affect me.
An friend’s brother is a quite a famous psychic with an amazing reputation. I made tentative steps to contact him (about my mom) but thought better if it.
I think that if she wanted to contact me, she would do it directly.

Have you had any experiences with psychics, clairvoyants etc?

FannyCornforth Thu 07-Oct-21 06:39:11

To, not ‘too’

nanna8 Thu 07-Oct-21 06:54:51

I have a friend who is clairvoyant but I avoid talking about things we are not meant to meddle with, being a Christian.

Do you watch the news every day?

TillyTrotter Thu 07-Oct-21 07:23:19

Only every few days as a lot of it is so repetitive.

Are you planning a trip to the theatre now that we can?

henetha Thu 07-Oct-21 09:49:06

I would if I could. I love theatre. But I am nowhere near one
so it requires a lot of planning. I hope to do so next year.
I am planning a trip to the cinema very soon, - after my booster covid jab next week I shall go and see the new James Bond film.

Do you ever wear hats? Fancy ones to weddings etc.? Or a woolly beanie when it's cold? (I'm not keen and it has to be really cold before I will plonk anything on my head).

biglouis Thu 07-Oct-21 11:29:34

I have a black velvet hat for funerals and the like but I try to avoid weddings. They are too much hassle to get to them (dont drive and mobility problems).

Do you ever buy things from door salespeople?

One good thing about the lockdown was the way all these pesky door people stocked knocking. Just got one of those "ring" type bells so I can see who it is without revealing myself. Great view of the entire street.

BBbevan Thu 07-Oct-21 15:05:15

No never. Mind you now we are living in a semi rural area we haven’t had any.

We are decorating our guest bedroom. The wallpaper has cost a fortune but DH said it will see us out .

Do you ever buy things and think that?

DanniRae Thu 07-Oct-21 15:54:06

Yes! I have just splashed out on an expensive (for me) waterproof jacket and I said to Mr R "It will see me out"
I am 73. Am I being a but negative?

DanniRae Thu 07-Oct-21 15:57:26

Oops. Here is my question -

Are you always cold? I have a friend who never seems to be warm, no matter what the weather is like.

crazyH Thu 07-Oct-21 18:18:05

I am like your friend. For some reason, my feet are always cold, even in Summer, to the point, where I hardly wear summer sandals.

What is your favourite non-British food? Do you cook it yourself or prefer to go to an authentic restaurant ?

hollysteers Thu 07-Oct-21 21:15:15

Paella and risotto dishes, cooked by a pro.in a restaurant.

Which disease/medical condition do you most fear?
(Dementia for me)

henetha Fri 08-Oct-21 11:10:28

Definitely dementia. And cancer. Also Motor Neurone Disease. A friend died of it and it was horrendous.

Are you concerned about rising gas prices this winter?
What will you do to economise?

lovebeigecardigans1955 Fri 08-Oct-21 13:01:40

I'm not too worried about gas prices - it'll either be manageable or it won't so I don't see the point of worrying. There's nothing I can do about it.

Do you know what time of day you were born?
