Hello All! ? ?
I’ve tried to be more grammatically correct with the title this time.

Do you enjoy musical theatre?
??
Which is your favourite?

I love Jesus Christ Superstar; Cabaret; Oliver!; Sweeney Todd; Oklahoma
I could go on and on…

AGAA4 Mon 09-May-22 17:58:49

I have had a few issues over the years. People can be very selfish when it comes to parking and think their needs are more important.

Same question please.

hollysteers Mon 09-May-22 18:04:39

Fingers crossed, no problems with people parking here.

Do you have to have matching underwear?

MrsKen33 Mon 09-May-22 18:26:32

No, but white shirt and black trousers ,warrants a white bra and black knickers, and always Lacey.

How about you ?

biglouis Tue 10-May-22 04:03:59

Im not fussed about the colour of my underwear!. I just wear kaftans around the house and no underwear - not even knickers!

Do you have set times to go to bed, wake up etc?

When I worked for an employer I always said Id please myself about these things when I retired. Its 4 am now and Im just thinking about going to bed but there is nothing particular to get up for. I seldom sleep for more than 4/5 hours anyway.

AGAA4 Tue 10-May-22 08:44:30

In bed at ten. I read till ten thirty then sleep till around six thirty.

Do you plan each day or just do whatever you feel like when you get up?

biglouis Tue 10-May-22 11:58:06

I run a business so I have to be a planner. I have a list of tasks to get through each day. Its not in my nature to just get up and mooch about - even when Im on holiday.

Are you going to watch the state opening of parliament - or more importantly listen to the Queen's speech? I will because I have my eye on some of the proposed legislation.

crazyH Tue 10-May-22 17:42:01

I watched it just for the pageantry - missed seeing the Queen - it’s sad ?

Are you paranoid about making sure that you give equal amounts, in way of Birthday gifts etc to each of your children/grandchildren or do you base your generosity on their needs/financial situation ? I think I do. My divorced daughter and her teenage children get slightly more by way of pocket money etc. I must say that the other grandchildren are too young for pocket money

MrsKen33 Wed 11-May-22 08:14:30

My DD has no children, my DS has two. So they get a little more present wise obviously. But they both have houses to run, so when we gave then some money last month , to help with heating etc, they both got an equal amount.

Absolutely pouring here today. What do you do on such a day?

AGAA4 Wed 11-May-22 08:58:13

I usually catch up on some of the jobs I put off. Also spend time reading and doing puzzles.

Do you like the summer? I have mixed feelings. Don't like very hot weather. Enjoy it going light early and summer flowers. Don't like the insects that are about wasps, horse flies etc

hollysteers Wed 11-May-22 09:44:35

I don’t like it as much as I used to. Strangely sunny days can make me feel low and feel I should be outside.

Are you a town or country person?

henetha Wed 11-May-22 09:52:37

Country. As far back as I can remember I always wanted to live in the countryside and now I do. I like to be able to go to a town or city sometimes though.

Do you enjoy having a new baby in the family? I'm about to become a sort of step-great-grandmother and I'm so pleased.

FannyCornforth Wed 11-May-22 10:09:01

Babies are something I know absolutely nothing about!

If you were of a science-y persuasion (I’m not) what would you chose to study?
I’m really fascinated by insects.
In another lifetime I’d be an entomologist ?

FannyCornforth Wed 11-May-22 10:10:17

Congratulations henetha! I’m pleased for you too smile
Btw, did you buy a tanzanite ring?

henetha Wed 11-May-22 10:18:50

Hi FannyCornforth. Yes, I did and some earrings. They are wonderful! smile
The baby is my younger son's partner's son's girlfriend, and she is in labour even as I type. At least, I haven't heard if the baby (a girl apparently) is born yet.

FannyCornforth Wed 11-May-22 10:20:33

Excellent! On both counts!
You must tell us about the baby later, especially her name!

henetha Wed 11-May-22 10:20:46

Oh, I will answer the question.
I am fascinated by lizards for some reason, not sure what the scientific name is.... and tortoises.

Same question again...

AGAA4 Wed 11-May-22 11:43:10

Congratulations on baby to be henetha.
I think I would like to study diseases and hope to find cures for some that are incurable at present.

Are you a science or arts person?

MrsKen33 Wed 11-May-22 12:38:21

Congratulations henetha how lovely to have a new baby in the family.

I am an arts person most definitely. Went to art school in the sixties and have drawn and painted ever since.
My DH is fixated on condiments. We have a big drawer full of all sorts of strange sauces and pickles.
Do you like that sort of thing?

SachaMac Wed 11-May-22 12:56:08

Yes, I particularly like to try different Balsamic vinegars & salad dressings.

If you start a book and find it hard going for some reason do you persevere or give up. I try to keep going and quite often end up pleased that I did.

biglouis Wed 11-May-22 13:11:51

I tend to keep going. My favorite book - Frank Herberts SF novel Dune (currently a rave film) I made several attempts to get into before becoming hooked. Its not an easy read but I like books like that where the prose is very dense and detailed.

Do you keep a diary or journal of any kind - other than one just for appointments?

I have a separate diary for business tasks but still keep a "page a day" diary. I find that it helps me to order my thoughts and reflect on the day - as well as keeping me in the habit of handwriting.

AGAA4 Wed 11-May-22 13:41:46

I do keep a diary. I like to keep track of appointments and it's also good for checking back on events.

Do you like history? I find the past very interesting and would like to study it more.

FannyCornforth Wed 11-May-22 13:46:42

No. I really ought to though.
I’ll add it to my ‘Really Ought To List’
(If I can find it…)

When should you really ought to do?

BlueBalou Wed 11-May-22 13:48:14

I quite like certain periods of history but not enough to want to study it.

If you could invite anyone three historical figures to dinner, who would they be?

BlueBalou Wed 11-May-22 13:49:10

Oops!
Too slow!
I ought to stop eating chocolate but….

If you could invite anyone three historical figures to dinner, who would they be?

FannyCornforth Wed 11-May-22 13:50:21

Sorry! Cross posts!
Yes, I love it. Even more so as I get older.
I’ve got an MA in Eighteenth Century ‘stuff’. It’s got a stupidly long title as it was ‘interdisciplinary’.
I started a thread about PhD’s because I often think I’d love to do one.
I don’t think that it’s worth the cost though.
I’ve got three degrees and had hardly any input from the universities concerned.
In fact, they were positively a hindrance when I did my PGCE

What’s your favourite period in history?
