Hello All! ? ?
I’ve tried to be more grammatically correct with the title this time.

Do you enjoy musical theatre?
??
Which is your favourite?

I love Jesus Christ Superstar; Cabaret; Oliver!; Sweeney Todd; Oklahoma
I could go on and on…

FannyCornforth Wed 11-May-22 13:51:19

Answer Blue’s question, I’m messing up the thread!

hollysteers Wed 11-May-22 16:17:28

Emily Bronte, Oscar Wilde and Anne Boleyn.

If you had to choose a wedding dress for yourself now, what style would you choose?

Billybob4491 Wed 11-May-22 19:15:23

I think the same style as I wore back in the 60's.

My happy place to visit is my local library - what is yours?

NanKate Wed 11-May-22 19:27:00

My happy place is eating fish and chips and drinking a Bacardi and Coke with my DH on Lymington Quay when we are in the New Forest on hols.

Who is your favourite sports person or can I be daring and say sportsman or sportswoman ?

AGAA4 Wed 11-May-22 20:01:38

Marcus Rashford

Do you prefer a coast or countryside holiday?

crazyH Wed 11-May-22 20:06:45

Countryside, for sure. I’ve got beaches all round me .

What a gorgeous day it’s been- had a couple of neighbours over for drinks and snacks . I am shattered and to think I have in the past, hosted and cooked for over 40 guests!!!! Do you find entertaining really tiring?

biglouis Thu 12-May-22 00:17:24

I enjoyed entertaining when I was younger. Now I just cant be bothered with all the hooha. I dont mind having the odd person around for an hour or two but to be truthful I am glad to see the back of them. It has to be arranged beforehand. I never invite neighbours or casual callers in.

Do you ever watch SF films or read SF books?

I got hooked when I was about 14 (1958) with the Edgar Rice Burroughs "John Carter on Mars" series. The local librarian told me that very few "young ladies" read SF.

lovebeigecardigans1955 Thu 12-May-22 08:45:15

I've read very few SF books as it's not really my thing - I have a real blind spot for science and maths but I adore art, poetry and classic literature.

Do you have any blind spots? Subjects which you just can't understand?

henetha Thu 12-May-22 09:43:35

Oh yes, Maths. The school wouldn't even let me sit the O level exam as I was so useless at it. I still struggle with numbers.

(sorry to highjack this thread, but to those of you who showed an interest yesterday, baby girl, River, was born at about 1am last night. Mother and baby doing well. So I am now a step great grandmother and very happy.)

Do you sometimes give in to temptation? I did yesterday and broke my rule about not buying any new clothes. I saw a pair of shoes which I could not resist, in Pavers. What last item did you buy without really meaning to?

SachaMac Thu 12-May-22 10:51:07

I went into Sainsburys last week for a few food essentials & came out with a set of Habitat bedding and two cushions!!

Given the choice would you opt to go out for a champagne breakfast or an afternoon tea.

hollysteers Thu 12-May-22 11:27:41

Afternoon tea, I feel like death in the mornings and can have champagne with my afternoon tea can’t I?

Do you use an electric or manual toothbrush?

ginny Thu 12-May-22 11:50:06

Electric.

I love baking. Just made a Victoria sponge and a lemon drizzle cake. Do you enjoy baking and what is your signature bake ?

AGAA4 Thu 12-May-22 11:55:42

henetha congratulations on new baby River - lovely name.

I used to love baking and decorating cakes but I am on my own so mostly just me to eat it so I don't bake any more.

What is your favourite cake to bake? I liked chocolate.

MrsKen33 Thu 12-May-22 12:07:51

What a lovely name*henetha*.

I make a mean courgette cake with a lemon frosting.

If you had had another child, or even a first one, what might you have called it. I always favoured Osian

biglouis Thu 12-May-22 17:00:29

I never wanted children. If I had a son I would call him Yves and a daughter Perdita.

Do you ever trim your own hair or get a friend/relative to do it rather than going to the hairdresser?

My hair is waist length and has never been cut for years. Every so often I get my nephew to chop off the split ends.

hollysteers Thu 12-May-22 18:40:08

My DD initially trained as a hairdresser before her present job, so she sometimes gives me a little trim.

If you have a liquor after your meal, what do you choose?

FannyCornforth Fri 13-May-22 06:56:23

Congratulations henetha! And a beautiful name too ?

I’m not sure if I have ever had a liquor that isn’t enclosed in chocolate!
I think I might have had Grand Marnier a long time ago at an old (ie young) boyfriend’s house.
I remember his dad making jokes about ‘big sailors’. Dad’s eh?
I’ve got a bottle of Courvoiser that I got free from Ocado.
I’ve no idea what it’s like ?‍♀️

What alcoholic drinks do you favour?
I like dry white wine and g and t.
Very boring.
Don’t like whiskey.
If I were to have a pint I’d have a Guinness

Mollygo Fri 13-May-22 07:42:53

Baileys Chocolate Luxe, Woods Navy Rum or half a pint of Stella. I drink so rarely that the supermarket “Irish Cream” drinks go off and consolidate in the bottle.

Have you ever made a stupid mistake with an alarm clock. Set mine for 6.30 but forgot to change it to am!

AGAA4 Fri 13-May-22 15:31:43

I have done the same. Set mine as I thought for 7am and wondered what the ringing noise was at 7 that evening.

I have a sore throat today. Do you always think 'covid' if you have any of the symptoms?

lovebeigecardigans1955 Fri 13-May-22 16:22:55

I do worry a little about covid if I get one of those symptoms but then put it out of my mind.

Do you have a set routine each day?

MrsKen33 Fri 13-May-22 17:32:36

Seems so. Jobs, house and garden in the morning. Then writing after lunch, unless it is nice out ,then a walk to the sea.

Do you buy your DH or OH a birthday cake?

henetha Fri 13-May-22 17:39:51

(thank you for kind congratulations upon River's birth, all of you lovely people. smile.

I used to make birthday cakes for my husband. Long time ago.

Are you ever nervous at night? Especially those of you who live alone?

biglouis Fri 13-May-22 18:12:14

I live alone but no more nervous at night than any other time. I keep very upredictable hours so there is always a light on. I also have a full security system and cctv.

If you could have any kind of pet - cost of the pet or housing it being no object - what would you choose?

I would have about a dozen tortoises of the kind that dont hibernate. They would be quite expensive to keep over winter and purchase but I love them.

AGAA4 Fri 13-May-22 19:51:19

I would probably have a rescue dog but I do like small pigs.

Can you spend money easily or do you think twice before buying anything?

SachaMac Fri 13-May-22 19:53:14

Probably a houseful of dogs (just have the one at the moment) If I’d got the outdoor space and a nice stable I’d love to have a couple of donkeys.

Do you enjoy cocktails and if so what’s your favourite. I’d go for a Porn Star Martini, closely followed by a Pina colada.
