Hello All! ? ?
I’ve tried to be more grammatically correct with the title this time.

Do you enjoy musical theatre?
??
Which is your favourite?

I love Jesus Christ Superstar; Cabaret; Oliver!; Sweeney Todd; Oklahoma
I could go on and on…

biglouis Mon 16-May-22 22:43:53

Four years ago when I went to Venice - my favorite European city. Ive been about 10 times. I am now in my late 70s and mobility impaired so I doubt I will go abroad again - too much hassle.

Have you ever burned or scalded yourself in a minor household accident?

I spilled hot coffee on my ankle 4 weeks ago and was amazed how long it took to heal. Try lifting your ankle up to the sink to run a cool tap on it when your arthritic! I had to settle for a tea-towel wrung out in cool water.

henetha Mon 16-May-22 23:24:27

Yes, someone once tipped a thermos of freshly made tea over my arm (accidentally) and I had to go to A&E. Huge blisters developed and it was agony. It took weeks and several trips to the nurse before it healed.

Have you ever broken a limb or sprained something.? I've been lucky, just a sprained wrist once.

FannyCornforth Tue 17-May-22 08:14:48

I broke both of my wrists falling off a skateboard when I was 16.
It was extremely hard to do anything.
Strangely fun though - it was during a very happy time in my life.

Were you happy when you were 16?

SachaMac Tue 17-May-22 10:23:24

I went to Croatia with my late DH in the September before lockdown, we were celebrating our Ruby wedding. Was a wonderful holiday but sadly our last abroad together.

Is there a previous holiday destination you would love to return to or somewhere you haven’t yet been but would love to go.

hollysteers Tue 17-May-22 11:37:06

Fanny’s question.
I was very happy with friends and a lively music/art scene but very unhappy at home with a tyrant of a father.

Have you had covid?

DanniRae Tue 17-May-22 12:42:49

We went to Portugal in September 2019 and have not been anywhere else since home or abroad.
We are, however, trying to book a holiday in Majorca or Ibiza but having trouble getting flights that aren't in the middle of the night!

DanniRae Tue 17-May-22 12:45:19

Question:

Where is your favourite holiday destination?

MrsKen33 Tue 17-May-22 12:53:13

Norway. We have been several times. Lovely people, beautiful scenery and everywhere clean

Same question please .

Mollygo Tue 17-May-22 14:08:29

Portugal- along the river Douro is beautiful and Porto and Lisbon are well worth multiple visits.

Dare I ask the same question? Or would you prefer a hotter or colder destination from the climate where you live now?

biglouis Tue 17-May-22 17:37:19

In Europe I love Venice. A majical city Ive visited many times in my life. Outside Europe I love Kathmandu - a very strange chaotic city with stunning landscapes of the Himalayes.

Which was the most disappointing place you visited on holiday?

For me it was Paris. Lovely city but the people are so rude and unwelcoming. Even the French dont like them.

SachaMac Tue 17-May-22 18:29:25

Dubai for me, the hotel was great but I’m glad we were only there for a few days on a stop over, I wouldn't rush back.

Have you ever been on a walking or other activity type holiday or do you prefer to just go away & relax

Mollygo Tue 17-May-22 19:37:22

I like a walking holiday-as long as there’s transport at the end of the walk if we need it.

Holidaying with family including children and teens is fun, but never relaxing.
Do you go on holiday with family?

AGAA4 Tue 17-May-22 19:41:19

I have been on holiday with my family several times. It was good fun to be with them.

Do you enjoy opera?

lovebeigecardigans1955 Wed 18-May-22 09:03:36

I enjoy the odd aria as long as it's not too heavy.

Do you have a favourite aria?

SachaMac Wed 18-May-22 09:20:33

Bellinis Casta Diva

Hay fever season is upon us, do you suffer from this or other allergies.

MrsKen33 Wed 18-May-22 09:33:00

No not allergic to anything except penicillin.

Just 9:30 and not boasting, but the washing is out and DH and I have cut the front hedge. Do you have days when you feel full of energy? Perhaps it’s the lovely weather

AGAA4 Wed 18-May-22 09:42:48

Lovely sunny days do inspire me to do more. I feel I am losing out today as have a hacking cough so won't go out.

Do you go abroad for holidays or stay in the UK?

FannyCornforth Wed 18-May-22 10:23:45

Stay in the UK because we like to take our dog/s.
I’m not into warm weather either, so it’s wasted on me.
In the past I’ve been to India, but I don’t think that I’ll ever go abroad again.

When your children / grandchildren were young, what were your favourite things to play with them?

henetha Wed 18-May-22 10:31:53

We spent many hours in swing parks, my grandchildren and I. In all weathers. I have so many memories of lots of fun, and various mishaps.
But at home they always liked to sing with me. I fondly remember "Nelly the Elephant", "There's a hole in my bucket" etc. I was the singing Nan.

If you could be somewhere else today, where would it be?

biglouis Thu 19-May-22 00:58:15

Venice - but only for a holiday. I would not like to live there.

If you could go back and relive your life what main thing would you do differently?

I would go self employed when I was younger and never work for an employer.

FannyCornforth Thu 19-May-22 07:46:11

I should have focussed on drawing more, and studied illustration.
I needed to work from home as I am super-introverted and being with people all day drains me.
I didn’t really have much of a plan unfortunately. And when my mom died I lost my way even further.

Do you regret anything work wise?

MrsKen33 Thu 19-May-22 09:51:03

No not really. I did a lot of CP stuff towards the end of my teaching career and wish I had done it earlier. It was heartbreaking in some instances but so rewarding.

Have you ever been truly frightened?

AGAA4 Thu 19-May-22 10:16:42

Yes. I was in Canada. We were staying in an isolated spot. My family had gone white water rafting and I was on my own. There were forest fires around at that time and I could see a wall of smoke heading towards me. I had no car to get away.
I knew there was a small cafe on the road so headed there.
By now the smoke was getting nearer. The lady in the cafe had been told that the fire was turning and wouldn't reach us which is what happened.

Same question again please.

hollysteers Thu 19-May-22 10:38:30

I know it sounds flippant, but my DH driving, bless him, particularly when young, frightened me to death. Fast, overtook on double white lines etc. My cousin refused to get in a car with him..

Have you had covid?

Mollygo Thu 19-May-22 10:51:06

Yes. We just needed to go on holiday to catch it. Teaching and shopping during lockdown, eating out, meeting andgoing to concerts, after lockdown all left me Covid free, but going abroad . . .

If you’ve had Covid, were you really ill with it?
