I definitely prefer it to stay cool - I really dislike very hot weather. And as for sleeping, it's a nightmare - especially when Mr R has the duvet pulled right up, practically over his head and I am laying there sweltering!

Do you have different tog duvets according to the time of year?
We do and it's definitely time to change to the summer one!!

My bedroom never gets too warm so I just keep the 10 tog rate one on. It is cold in winter and I add a throw which keeps me comfortably warm.

Where would you like to be just now? I would love to be by the sea.

In the Cotswolds where I spent the long school holidays with my Aunt and Godmother.

Do you find socialising and company tiring, having to recharge your batteries, or energising?

Nowadays I find it tiring and draining to be too close to people. I try to avoid it if possible. I ration even friends and relatives to short visits (4 hours or less)

Would you go for a nap while you had work people in the house?

Im having some electrical work done next week. The power will be off for about 2 hours and Im thinking of just going to bed. I will show the electrician where he can find a drink and let him help himself. He doesnt need me for anything.

I always seem to be on some sort of half-hearted diet. Comfort eating works for me, unfortunately. I live alone, so have no filter! That said, I know my physical health would improve dramatically if I could just stick to one…

In the New Forest. The sun was slowly sinking down below the trees of the Forest.

What’s your favourite wine ?

I don’t drink much. The odd gin and I suppose one or two glasses of wine a week. Simple tastes, I like Prosecco ,and Jam Shed.
What do you do when you have nothing to do?

I pass the time reading, I’m a bookworm.

Would you have liked to have had more/less/no children?

We planned only for two. Third was an accident, but the sweetest accident. My older two AC are so difficult - they are opinionated and cantankerous. I love them to bits but…….
I was chatting with my teenage grandson and he said “Nan, aren’t you glad you had Uncle N ?”, his mother being my oldest ?

I chose not to have children and don't regret it.

I hate it now. Not the case when I was younger. I use a fan or the aircon machine and stay indoors.

I dont cook often and when I do I go for what is easiest. Im not a foodie.

Which do you dislike most - freezing cold weather or sizzling hot like 30 degrees?

I dont like either but I hate the cold worst because of my arthritis.

When do you water your plants? Morning or evening?

‘Morning!
I don’t, DH does it in the evening.
I really enjoy doing the watering but can’t stand and walk around for long enough…

But all that is about to change, because

I’m in today and writing.
We were up at 7 and everything done before it gets hot. Does the weather influence when you get up?

Not just the weather, but our dog. She seems to think daylight is sufficient an excuse to get up and heat is a good reason to go out early.

I’ve just seen an advert for something that says it efficiently removes pet hair from carpets. It sounds to good to be true. Have you tried something you’d recommend?

A damp rubber glove is as good as anything else for removing pet hair, so I've been told, that's if you can bend. However, I believe there is such a thing as a long-handled rubber broom - surely they'd work too?

What's for dinner when you can't be bothered to make much effort?

Salad and baked potato for me.

Do you stay out late in the garden when it's been hot?

Yes, I prefer the evenings when it’s cooled down a little.

Do you wear a sun hat when out and about in the heat.
