There's one in our town, literally a 5 minute walk from us. And I still haven't been there since it was built. I keep meaning to go, and I will one day! I have always loved museums and the like.
Are you planning on putting up a tree this Christmas?
I only wear a hat when it’s extremely cold and I’m walking the dog, I didn’t wear a hat for my DC weddings, compromised with a fascinator but removed it as soon as I could. I just don’t like hats & don’t feel comfortable in them.
Have you brought anything Christmassy yet, I brought some cards in the Red Cross charity shop but that’s all.
Well, couple of little things for the little ones. I have no energy to traipse through the shops. It’s money for everyone this year plus a token gift.
When I dream, I mostly see my ‘young’ self - pretty and vivacious. And strangely enough, being asked out on dates ? Is it wishful thinking ? What is a common thread in your dreams?
No, never. I once accidentally ‘stole’ a handbag from Next. As soon as I realised, I took it back. I came down with swine flu the next day - perhaps that was why I was so muddled in my thinking
1. Have you ever accidentally stolen anything? 2. Did you get swine flu when it did the rounds?
I had taken one of my GS’s shopping, I nipped in Boots for nappies & a quick look round. When I got back & lifted my GS out of the pushchair he was sitting on a makeup compact. I returned it the next day.
Never had swine flu but a friend & colleague at the school I worked at did she was seriously ill in hospital & off work for months.
Do you follow recipes or just throw everything together & hope for the best.
Follow recipes if it’s new and for visitors. After that I just put in what I remember. Some things I can do on automatic pilot. I love a new cookery book every now and then. Pinch of Nom is the newest one, but even that’s several years old. Do you have a favourite recipe book and do you buy new ones?
No - because Im mobility impaired/none driver mine is arranged as an at home visit by the NHS so typically takes a bit longer to happen. I will get a text advising me of the date.
Do you ever lock the door when you are alone in the house?
I do all the time. I also lock my door when Im in a hotel as Ive had some "weird" experiences travelling solo.
Thats a "how long is a piece of string" question and would depend entirely on the context. Probably to spend a minimum of time on social media!
Would you snitch on someone you saw stealing food in a supermarket?
I would mind my own business if it were run of the mill stuff. I would not want to be involved with police and courts as it could be someone stealing to feed their kids.
When I was a young mum there was an old man who went regularly to our local coop and walked out with a leg of lamb up his sleeve. Staff and customers all knew but he was never confronted about it.
My mother hated the wind. The weather today is supposed to be awful. Will you be fearful ?
Not of wind particularly, but if my house was surrounded like trees like my friends houses I would definitely be concerned. The weather that frightens me most is fog. Driving in fog is a nightmare, because everybody else seems to be able to see and go at top speed. On a motorway in my 30s, a lorry overtook me, disappeared into the fog and then there was a most humongous crash.
Whoah, Molly. That’s scary, like something from Tales of the Unexpected
No. I love ‘bad’ weather. The darker, the wetter, The windier: the better
A little poem!
I’m going food shopping at M&S in Ashbourne later today, which will be a treat; it’s an amazing food hall. Is there anything from M&S that you particularly like?
I love M&S food but their meringues are one of my favourites, they also do a really nice cottage cheese with prawns. They’re the things I always pick up along with all the other stuff I can’t resist. I used to like a look around Bennett’s in Ashbourne, I assume it’s closed like the Derby store.
Did you ever used to shop in Woolworths and if so what did you buy, it was usually pick n mix & records for me.
Pick and mix - though now I’m horrified by the H&S issues that lurked in that. Records and later on Ladybird children’s clothes.
I read on GN that conkers keep spiders away, So I’ve been collecting them assiduously every time I walk the dog. Have you ever tried it and does it work?
