Gordon Ramsay - cant stand the man. Not just the arrogance but he is a foul mouthed bully.
Which TV personality do you think has been misjudged? Maybe you see another side to them.
I think David Beckham gets a worse press than he deserves. Yes he mouthed off about not getting an honour but he does a lot for charity/sport and is a great role model. People who have achieved a lot less have been honoured.
I must say that I agree with you there re Beckham. The Quatar business is dreadful though
I don’t think that Danny Baker was being racist with the photo of the couple with the monkey. It was a joke about parading royal babies in public. Baker doesn’t have a racist bone is his body.
As an aside, he also wrote one of the funniest books ever. His memoir of growing up in the East End in the 50s and 60s.
Hi Ken! ? I’m always awake around now. I have ‘two sleeps’, with a couple of hours awake in between. No, if I’m not enjoying it, I stop. My dear departed Nan was a ‘plougher on’, which always made me laugh. She’d say, ‘I’m so glad I’ve finished that, it was the biggest load of rubbish’
What book did you find was ‘the biggest load of rubbish’?
Give up, once reading it becomes a chore not a pleasure.
If something gets broken, do you try to glue it together, or bin it or replace it The handle broke off a special gift mug DH just dropped. He’s carefully glued it on, but I’ve secretly ordered a replacement.
DH is s sticker together, and he does it well. But if a thing is shattered it goes in the bin. Fanny’s question. Just read ‘Intimacies’ by Katie Kitamura, for book club. Lauded as Obama’s favourite book . Dull. But finished
What shall I wear to a party at the Yacht club. !!!!!!!
On line, rarely go into a bank nowadays but would like to think I could if need be. I used to work for a bank many years ago. Most branches here are pubs or hairdressers as in most towns.
If times were different on the High Street and you were opening a shop what would it be. I would love a little haberdashers like the one we used to go in as children with the lovely wood & glass draws. Sadly not much call for one nowadays
Both really, though I love the feel and smell of an actual book.
My neighbour gave me sone medlars yesterday. They need ‘blething’ go over ripe, so I have put them in a basket to do so. Anyone else had experience of medlars?
I had to look them up. Like figs with cinnamon apparently. Also known as ‘monkey bottoms’! There are a few very nice indeed wallpapers featuring them too (the fruit not the bottoms) Will you be using them Ken?
What’s the most unusual thing that you have ever cooked or eaten? I’m very boring in that regard, so can’t think of anything. Oh, hang on! Cat food. Just curious. Didn’t taste of anything.I spat it out (I don’t eat meat) And an ant when I was a child (heavens knows why). It bit my tongue! ?
Since we currently have several young school children as neighbours, who come round with their parents, yes I do. I also go round and admire the displays in their gardens. Some gruesome and some very imaginative.
Are you looking forward to the clocks going back? This time of year I get up in the dark, go to work in the dark and come home in the dark, so I don’t see it makes any real difference.
