Yes similar for me, lunches out, occasional evening meal out, trips to the cinema etc. got to have things to look forward to and get out of the house.

No! Absolutely not. But it’s so unlikely.

I would keep it well quiet except for the nephew who helps me. I would treat him.

Do you think grandparents should help out regularly with childcare or only in emergencies?

I have no kids so does not apply. However I dont think you should expect grandparents to do this as general rule. Its up to them.

I’ve no real opinions on grand parenting. Everyone has different relationships with their individual family members, so it’s hard to comment on generalities

Christmas starts in mid November for me. It’s more of a season than a day. I never actually do anything much on the day itself. But I love all of the cosiness and traditions.
We used to go to Whitby for Christmas for years, but it’s too hilly for us now, and I can’t risk Mr FC getting too cold either.

I’ve always loved the build up as much as the day itself. Before I retired I worked in a special school and we really went to town at Christmas. I will be spending it with my DC & GC, my DH died last year so for me Christmas won’t be the same anymore.

Have you ever been abroad on holiday at Christmas and did you enjoy it? My sister & her DH did a few years ago, the total chaos at the airports put them off doing it again.

Yes, just once. In 2013 I went to Malta with 13 relatives and in-laws. I got talked into it and sort of dreaded it. But to my surprise I loved it and wish I could do it again. The hotel put on a wonderful Christmas Day.

Are you wearing winter woollies yet? I am about to unpack my suitcase with all my jumpers and fleecy things in. Do you do this, pack things away each season?

Im still wearing lightweight summer things but I just unpacked my big furry poncho and fleecy blanket for when they are needed.

I used to watch Emmerdale and Corrie regularly. These days I watch a lot of Documentaries on Netflix and YouTube. I’m more into reality than fiction. There are some fascinating facts.

Three walk in showers and one bath which is rarely used.

I don’t really like any. I like the ‘quiz’ element, but I don’t like the time wasting bits; chatting to the contestants and the daft gimmicks.
