Hello! 👋
New thread.

To answer the last question; No, I don’t have CCTV cameras

Q: Who are your favourite male and female singers?

FannyCornforth Fri 07-Apr-23 09:29:52

Poor thread sad
Any questioners and answerers out there?

henetha Fri 07-Apr-23 09:37:37

Hello! I'll have a go.

It's hard to have just one favourite singer, but in the interests of this thread I will try.
Freddie Mercury.
Judy Garland.

Do you have plans for this sunny Good Friday?

NotAGran55 Fri 07-Apr-23 09:56:13

I’m going to football ⚽️ this afternoon.

Same question please.

FannyCornforth Fri 07-Apr-23 10:00:37

Who is your team NotAGran?

MrC and I are going to attempt to cut the grass together.
It’s very, very long.
I’ve never actually used a lawnmower before (blush) and he needs to teach me how to do it.

Same question!

The Royals Fanny aka Reading FC, fighting for our lives after having 6 point deduction this week 😟

FannyCornforth Fri 07-Apr-23 10:38:23

Oh dear. All the very best of luck 🍀

lovebeigecardigans1955 Fri 07-Apr-23 13:58:22

I should visit my sister very shortly.

Does the good weather make you feel more enthusiastic about some of the jobs which need doing around the house and garden?

henetha Sat 08-Apr-23 10:53:02

Yes it does. I washed a couple of blankets yesterday and have been outside dead heading polyanthus this morning. I must tidy my pots ready for summer plants. A bit of sunshine spurs us on I think.

Have you decided what to plant this spring.?? After last summer 's heat I think I'll try more drought resistant plants.

MrsKen33 Sat 08-Apr-23 11:24:36

I have more than enough plants in the garden ,but might just get some more of those gigantic lilies. They were wonderful last year.

Do you buy plants for colour or perfume?

crazyH Sat 08-Apr-23 11:48:43

For colour ..but I do love the smell of jasmine ..sadly, jasmines
don’t like my house or garden. They die 🥲

crazyH Sat 08-Apr-23 11:49:00

Same question…

henetha Tue 11-Apr-23 18:36:47

I buy plants for colour. I love putting different colours together in pots .

It's rained all day here today. Do you get fed up? Or find a way to keep occupied? I tidied my linen cupboard today and found things I'd forgotten I had.

FannyCornforth Thu 13-Apr-23 10:44:09

I have an incredibly high boredom threshold. I’m also quite lazy.
Apropos of nothing, an NHS podiatrist came to see me today.
My ongoing mobility and pain issues are because one leg is significantly longer than t’other

Do you have an interesting health or body issue that you’d like to share?

MrsKen33 Thu 13-Apr-23 15:10:10

I was diabetic but now I have reversed it by diet. Lost 2 1/2 stone and have kept it off for the last eight years. And I am very short sighted. Otherwise in quite good nick for my age.

Same question please

NotAGran55 Fri 14-Apr-23 16:57:22

Six months after an emergency appendectomy the site ruptured.
The repair, done by keyhole, is a piece of mesh measuring 20cm x 10cm held in place by 42 staples.
No known medical conditions 🤞

Well done on reversing your diabetes MrsKen.

Same question please.

henetha Sat 15-Apr-23 13:11:28

My appendectomy scar is almost 5 inches long. I was 16 when my appendix erupted. No keyhole surgery back then unfortunately.

Anyone got any interesting scars?

MrsKen33 Sat 15-Apr-23 14:00:34

Yup! hip to hip and a little further down ,a hysterectomy scar.
About 8 inches across.

Any more?

ginny Sat 15-Apr-23 19:16:17

8 “ scar from appendix and bowl op’ in 1963.
Both Knees have scars due to replacements.
4 “ scar on sole of right foot due to stepping on a needle.
Small scars on fingers of right hand due to a needle and a wine bottle explosion.
Will probably gain another on my hip before the year is out.

I am going away later this month all my myself. Have rented an apartment overlooking a river. Have you ever been away on your own ?

AGAA4 Sun 16-Apr-23 16:37:24

Only overnight but I am planning to go for a few days away on my own.

If you could be whisked away where would you want to go?

lovebeigecardigans1955 Tue 18-Apr-23 10:11:09

I've love to be whisked away to the north Breton coast in northern France to a favourite campsite overlooking the sea. I expect it's changed an awful lot since the last visit many years ago.

Same question again please.

FannyCornforth Tue 18-Apr-23 10:16:47

Whitby. Or Northumberland.
I’m easy to please geographically!

Who would you like to whisk you away?
(Outrageous answers only, lovely as they are, no DHs!)

MrsKen33 Tue 18-Apr-23 11:57:59

Not saying Fanny but I am in a constant state of readiness.

Same again please ( as the art mistress said to the gardener)

FannyCornforth Tue 18-Apr-23 12:05:41

Ken, as an aside, am I mistaken, or did you mention once that you are a fan of Lichtenstein?

MrsKen33 Tue 18-Apr-23 16:10:43

Yes Fanny I think I went to a big exhibition at the Tate and saw his work there for the first time ..60s - 70s. I have the catalogue somewhere.
