Mouldy courgettes

Does anyone know why my courgettes start growing and then go mouldy at the blossom end? On the same plant some do this and others don't.

I have the same problem and have no idea why it happens.

I do get some that go mouldy, these are usually the ones buried in the leaves. I therefore suspect that air flow is the problem, try removing a few leaves to let the air circulate better. Make sure you remove every mouldy one, the mildew will spread easily.

I do remove all the mouldy ones but I'll try taking some of the leaves off. I'm still getting used to this garden and the different climate.

My book says place the ends on bit of broken tile or glass to raise them off damp ground - i have done this and it works!

I pick off the flowers when they start to wilt and tuck a bit of straw under the courgette - seems to work.

Granny23 I suggested taking of the flowers and putting straw and the husband laughed at me. Thank you. I hadn't thought about removing some of the leaves though. That sounds a good idea. I don't suppose it helps that I live in such a wet part of the country.
