Help in identifying a flowering perennial shrub, please!

Glad to have been of service....not all honeysuckle are climbers. We have 2 different varieties of climbing honeysuckle and a small shrub called Lonicera nitida.

ps yes it does have little berries, absolutely sure you have pinned it down for me.

Also that fits with the fact we were told it was a honeysuckle, although it doesn't look much like one to me! Yet it is in the family, and even has that sort of name.

I also think it looks like Lonicera Tartarica but does it get red berries later in the year? I believe Lonicera Tartarica has red berries when the flowers die back. Look for the berries and that should help confirm its identity.

I think it could be Lonicera Tartarica.....lonicera is Honeysuckle. I've just looked it up in my plant identifier book and this is the closest match.

thanks for the suggestions, will have a go at profile idea! Petals 4, lipstick pink, clay soil, new shoots bearing flowers green and whippy but the thing has a trunk and lower branches maybe 6 inches across...

How many petals? What kind of pink? What soil conditions is it growing in? How thick are the stems?
