I'M NOT FEEDING THE BIRDS. I thought I was, but no. I looked out of my bedroom window this morning and saw a grey furry thing squirming about INSIDE my squirrel proof bird feeder. I stood in amazment as a large rat emerged from the cage, calmly descended the pole and disappeared into the shrubbery!

My downstairs neighbour feeds the birds from her lounge window which is to my right under my lounge window, the birds congregate on our roof and swoop down for the bread and leave their mess on my lounge window not a good look when I have paid the window cleaner, she means well this lady but I wish she wouldn't and she is to old for me to ask her to stop doing it so when I see she has put bread out off I go and collect it all up and redistribute it on the field opposite.

glamma tee hee, and I sort of know what you mean. We have large pigeons (the common ones because I know where they come from - they nest under the rail bridge near our house) - that come and eat the bird food, so no other birds come near it anyway because there are always 4 or 5 pigeons patrolling. The problem is - they sit on our roof waiting when the food supply is not there/finished and leave large pooh streaks down our glass sliding door - usually when we've just cleaned it. Gr. So we stopped feeding them, but they still come and "march" up and down. It does make me feel guilty - this has gone on for well on a year now, they don't turn up for a while, and then one day they're back again.

Teehee was for collecting up and redistribution!
