anyone seen a snowdrop yet?

We have snowdrops in bloom now. I'm very pleased that the bulbs I put in last autumn have taken, new clumps of snowdrops under the tree.

Yep, we have snowdrops and aconites. Lots more to come yet though.

Yes lots, carpets of them, in Penrhyn where I spent an energetic 2 hours clearing away dead ferns and allowing more of them to show off. They are pretty much all the wild type. Unlike Anglesey Abbey where there are more varieties than I ever dreamed of. The winter garden in AA is also lovely. But it is much quieter in Penrhyn! (bit of a scrum sometimes in AA)

Yes, lots of shoots and a few flowers. Quite early for Glasgow I think. Lots of daffy shoots too. Maybe Spring is coming. Just wish the rain would stop!

I found 1 lone snowdrop yesterday in the front garden.

Yes, ours have been out for a little while, hidden underneath the natural hedge. It's blowing like mad here this afternoon!

Lots in my garden and a local stately home with snowdrop woods is opening them on 1 Fenruary.

Well, my snowdrops are not even up yet let alone out! It's still so very mild here, and wet.

With regard getting snowdrops to grow it might depend on the soil, but Jingle is right about needing to plant them "in the green".

That is contrary to what you do with most other spring bulbs.

Ours are out in the back garden and the mini iris' is also in full bloom!

Galen Have you tried planting them "in the green"? Garden centres will have them in pots now.

Yes, I've got several clumps now. My back garden is very protected from the elements, though, so they've sprung up a little earlier than some others.

A few showing white but not open. My Christmas Rose is nearly out too

Yes! Just appeared in the back garden, 5 or 6 tiny drooping heads. At last!
Such a joy to see them. Makes me feel Spring is not too far away.

I walked about quarter of a mile up the road to a neighbour to post her card , before Christmas her snowdrops were in full flower.
In fact she gave me a nice bunch to take home , I think they must be a very early flowering variety , as mine are not showing a peep thus far.
