We have Bramleys and usually slice them into a bowl of water with some lemon juice then drain and freeze.
Last year I stored the best ones for future baking by wrapping them individually in kitchen paper and putting them in the veg drawers of the outside fridge, I have tried the dark place method but the fridge was more successful.
I have sliced them into rings and dried them in a very slow oven. You can buy driers, I think Lakeland do one. This concentrates the flavour - delicious on cereal.
Last year I made apple and chilli apple jelly - lovely with cold meats and cheeses.
This year I made apple butter. Again nice with cheese (there was another thread on that).
I sound very industrious but I'm not!!
Thought this might amuse some of you!
