It is very muggy and dull here but zilch else. I may even have to water my plants!

A rain lover!!! Hooray! I love it too, as I can't take hot days. I sit out on my patio swing seat under an umbrella with a raincoat on, very early in the morning, with bare legs. It's bonkers but beautiful. (Also, my allotment needs rain, so maybe that makes me a bit biased ha ha.)

Me too, all the storms have missed us though and I love a good storm

It pleases me that we get such a variety of weather in the UK.
I am fond of rain, windy days when the clouds scud across the sky, and crisp cold days too.
I realise I only require 7 consistently hot sunny days when I have a pool to dip in on my holidays. ?‍♀️

We've had to postpone our 'bubble' garden party with DD and DSiL today because of the weather. We'll try again next Saturday.

I was feeling really down and disappointed because we were so looking forward to seeing them having had no contact with anyone bar the postman for three and a half months!

Then I looked out the window at the veg garden and my mood changed immediately. Even the small fennel seedlings had lifted their heads and were doing a little dance.

Our tame robin was hopping in and out of the greenhouse where she is sitting on five eggs in a nest under the bench. I have to let her know when I'm about to go in and fetch something and she obligingly pops out of a broken window pane at the back while I grab my window of opportunity

Nice to know I won't be spending nearly an hour watering tonight as well.

Charley I’m blowing hard to send the rainclouds your way! We’ve had enough to fill our water butts, so mustn’t be greedy! ????

So good to know I’m not the only one who loves rain! It’s not just the garden that needs it. It makes me feel better too.

Hope it all goes ahead next week. Family have arranged a bbq to celebrate my birthday (10 days early) it will be lovely to have them all together.

Charleygirl did you sleep in today girl? ?. I woke this morning to a downpour it lasted a good while, it was a good soaking for the garden and we’re only a couple of miles apart.

I felt like going out and dancing in it this morning????
Not enough though, I want much more.

Merlotgran it was lovely to hear about your nesting robin. I love to see a robin in the garden.

People say if you see a robin, the spirit of a loved one who has passed away, is near you. I don’t really believe that but always find it a comforting thought, when I do see a robin ...

Not when we are organising our first proper picnic in the garden and I cannot get the grass cut[angry ]

I'm delighted to see the rain even though it's put paid to our neighbourhood garden party this afternoon. I've carted my cucumber plant out of the greenhouse so that it can have a good soak. All houseplants are on the lawn and getting a good wash down and the chalk murals that the GC daubed all over the patio this week has vanished. And I can hear distant thunder..... fingers crossed for a damned good electrical storm.

No tanith the rain did not come this far. I thought it may have done this pm but the ground is so dry- I will be watering this evening I fear.

Weather says we should get a good storm just as the sun goes down!

I am so excited, going to sit out in our covered (safe) area with hot chocolate and marshmallows

We had a thunderstorm last night. It grew so dark that the solar powered garden lamps lit up. A fledgling robin ran for cover under the bushes in the corner of the garden. The heavy rain interfered with the TV reception so I switched it off.

Afterwards, when the sun came out again, the garden smelled delicious.

I love a good thunderstorm.

Rufus there is no such thing as the wrong kind of weather, only the wrong kind of clothes.

However, it's not much fun having a garden party in the rain in macs, galoshes and in a howling gale.
It can't make its mind up here today, a little rain, dark clouds, blazing sun and very strong winds. A distant rumble of thunder but no storms.

I'm watching my poor sunflowers get blown around even though they're staked.

Rather like the grandchildren, it is lovely to have rain for the day, but it will be lovely to see it go again too

That said, the fresher temperatures that came with it are very welcome to stay longer!

I sat in the greenhouse for over an hour this afternoon and enjoyed a wonderful thunderstorm. I could actually smell the lightening at one point so it must have been very close.

I'm glad it's cooler today, and I love the rain (although it makes my hair frizzy). I went for a walk in some woods today and managed to get home before the rain started.
