I definitely agree it's a Euphorbia. I like the idea of a green plant and there ae several different types.

I don’t think my app is correct about this plant. It does occasionally make mistakes!?

I found a similar one in my garden which I discovered was Petty Spurge (Euphorbia Peplus) whose common name is Milkwood, Radium Weed or Cancer Weed. It is highly toxic with sap that causes blisters and irritation. It is very poisonous if ingested. I have removed every bit of it wearing gloves and also warned my neighbour as it had crept into his garden too. I have no idea where it came from. It was pretty though!

Has anyone ever seen this crop before? I certainly haven’t. From a distance it shone silver almost like silver birch in the sun. There were acres of it spread across fields. As we got closer we could see it was in flower and at the bottom some kind of pea and bean pods were growing. Crop was about 3 feet tall. This was in mid September.

I have an app called “Picture This” that identifies plants from my pictures. I enjoy using it on my walks or even when an odd weed springs up in my garden. I find it very interesting!

That plant was muehlenbeckia, jaylucy although my spelling might not be quite right!

I drive myself mad on my walks when looking at plants and trees...not knowing what they are. I downloaded an app to my phone called Plantnet and you take a photo and it searches for a match. Bingo!

We have loads of euphorbia in our garden. It forms the border between the shrubs and the gravel. Ours is a variety with yellow/green flowers.

I too thought euphorbia, though have never seen one quite so delicate. It’s lovely!

You are a knowledgeable lot! Once you all put me on the right track I've pinned it down to Sun Spurge - Euphorbia helioscopia.
As you pointed out Exdancer the sap can cause blisters. However on one website I searched it said about the sap: "In Plants Britannica, Richard Mabey mentions that Manx fisherman applied the sap as an aphrodisiac, and that its name in Wiltshire was ‘Saturday Night’s Pepper’ ". My mind is boggled thinking about it . Thank you for all your help x

Spurge = Euphorbia. There are lots of varieties.

Is it the one that's sap makes blisters on your arms? I have something similar and I thought it was euphorbia too.

It looks like the plant that was mentioned on "Love Your Garden" last night that Francis Tophill thought that every garden should have! Sadly I can't remember what it was called and it's not listed on the website. But the programme is repeated several times on ITV
