Snow drops always cheer me up.
The start of fresh new beginnings?

Lucky you, we are nowhere close to that! How pretty.

I love them too but don’t think spring has arrived! Yours look gorgeous and far more advanced than mine. I often see the winter aconites in flower first.

Whitewavemark2 Tue 17-Jan-23 21:16:18

Mine are only a couple of inches of shoots.

The only thing I have in flower are iris unguicularis - which I love and shrubs - winter clematis, honeysuckle and Christmas box - all grown to help the bees.

No snowdrops yet, but some of the Hellebores are flowering

Grannybags Tue 17-Jan-23 21:23:35

My snowdrops are just starting to open. Very excited when I spotted them yesterday!

I love all the shrubs you mentioned Wwmk2, lovely scent. I only have Christmas Box.
Beautiful Hellibores Sarah75, I did have some but nothing showing this year.
I know how you feel Grannybags

If only.........

I'm too far north for flowers yet. The bulbs started to poke through in the pots but a series of below freezing temperatures, ice and snow have put paid to that! Looks lovely though

Fleurpepper Wed 18-Jan-23 10:00:44

Not here it ain't LOL

Namsnanny Wed 18-Jan-23 10:57:53

Nevermind Grandmabatty kim19 Fleurpepper you have it all to come. 😊
I wonder how much you are behind?
Post a photo when the time comes, if you can.

Lovely to see the snowdrops.

My garden is very confused. For the first time ever a bunch of daffodils flowered in January, just before the recent rain and cold snaps and the heads are now frozen in the earth. There are usually a mass of Christmas roses in flower but so far not a sign. The Mahonia flowered early but the flowers are very small and barely visible and normally it's covered in long yellow spikes.

I don't have any snowdrops as I think the squirrels dug them up years ago.
My helibores, winter Jasmine and Autumn cherry are cheerful though.

Oreo Wed 18-Jan-23 14:31:02

Nothing at all here, the snowdrops not showingsad and only tips of other Spring bulbs poking up so far.

Greyduster Wed 18-Jan-23 14:39:37

I have bulbs coming up in tubs and the front bed, and the first signs of snakeshead fritillaries, hellebores and grape hyacinths poking through on the rockery. Winter heathers are about the only thing providing colour at the moment. Lots of buds on the clematis too. Never had any luck with snowdrops, sadly.

Callistemon21 Wed 18-Jan-23 15:11:28

The snowdrops are coming up although still small and the flowers aren't open.

And it snowed here last night.

Namsnanny Tue 31-Jan-23 11:56:41

The flooded fields have drained, the heavy frosts have lifted(here) and the weatherman says it's going to be warm ish for the next week, so has this pushed anyones Snowdrops into flower?
I would love to see your photossmile

These made me smile this morning in SO's garden in South Yorkshire - first of the year.smile

Fleurpepper Mon 20-Feb-23 20:40:30

From one week to this one, all changed. Yellow aconites out and snow drops and leucojums out.

Callistemon21 Mon 20-Feb-23 22:38:58

leucojums
I had to Google them, I've never heard of them.

The daffodils are budding 🤞 they will be open on 1st March.
Purple crocuses are flowering in the lawn but all the yellow ones disappeared a couple of years ago.

BigBertha1 Mon 20-Feb-23 22:52:08

Crocus and daffodils popping out all over here.
