Try the Commonwealth War Graves Commission website. If you make a few attempts with the snippets of knowledge you have you may be lucky. All I had was his name and approximate date of death. Please let me know if you find your uncle.
I have been trying to find out where or if my grand-uncle Norman Mill was buried, but as I am unsure whether he died at the battle of the Somme or later, I haven' t found anything out yet.

We knew that my G uncle 'died in Flanders' just weeks before the birth of his third child. It's only today that I 've discovered that he is remembered at Aisne, the Soissons memorial. I believe this means he has no grave.
My cousin has just come back from visiting the grave of my great uncle in northern Italy. He was mortally wounded, and died on the 29th October 1918. He was shot while bearing a stretcher carrying a wounded German soldier.
I have found a site which has helped me to track down details of my Great Uncle who died at the battle of the Marne in July 1918. It seems he has no grave but is remembered on a beautiful memorial in Aisne.
