You're right Alison, no good telling just anyone and it's also about wanting to tell the one person that you know would have been over the moon with pride etc. It's really makes me quite heartsore sometimes, but not in a melancholy way, in a kind of a 'smile-with-a-tear' way.

Good morning Samantha I see that you are have been greeted by many lovely Gransnetters. They really are the salt of the earth. Nellie has survived more than her fair share of upheavel, and I have such a lot of respect for her. You see, you came to the right place. We're all willing you to continue to make your life, and that of your precious children something of which you can be truly proud. So far, WELL DONE...it is heartwarming to hear you sounding positive and cheerful. I hope that every day, in every way, you will feel better and better. smile flowers

Good afternoon Samantha. Have just returned from work -a morning's ironing for a lovely lady who lives in the village. It made me smile to read your recent post. You're sounding really upbeat and positive. I couldn't be happier for you. Hope your little boy enjoys school lunch, and that your little girl has fun at nursery when she starts in the morning. smile

Hi sam ...do you mind if I call you sam ,pleased to hear you sounding so lovely and cheerful, well don't your little boy with his school lunch,it is always a worry about wether they will eat or go hungry so by now you will have heard all about it what he had,or if he is like mine where, when asked they will say oh nothing,I bet your little girl will love nursery, and there will be a mum who is on her own who needs you to speak to her,you sound so friendly, although you are shy I feel that you are confident enough especially if your children can became friends....good luck, ..come back and let us know how your lovely sounding children got onxxxxxnellie

Hello Samantha1234. Just found your message (I am a new gn member) and I wondered if you have heard of Homestart? Anybody with a child under 5 is eligible and they are there for just what you sound you are looking for. You get paired with a volunteer (we all have to have had children, but are not necessarily grandparents) who lives in your area. Google them- the Hadleigh branch is nearest you I think, and give them a ring if you are interested.
PM me if you like smile
