Another young lady who can’t control her mouth

Whilst hosting my grandson and his much younger 5 year old sister he complained to me that she had bit him whilst they were having a disagreement.
When I broached the subject with her she explained sincerely that it wasn’t her.
“ My mouth was open. My teeth did it. “
Bless.
I am sure that we all have such lovely explanations given in innocence from our little ones.

hotmt the responses you got based on your original post were appropriate. You should have told the whole story.

As it's been more than two weeks since his original post I can only surmise that's how long it took to type his response! grin Bless. As for coming back and sharing more rubbish funny sayings,- really?grin

Like so much else the bite was relative. A dog that bites but does not beak the skin of her opponent is a good dog who can inhibit the bite.

Appropriate responses?
Very telling.
Recommendations to physically and verbally abuse a five year old child?
I don’t know how you raise your grandchildren, but your methods obviously differ from mine.

Oh dear, the irony of some responses seems to have gone straight over OP’s head.
It sounds like an unfortunate incident,if not best forgotten then best not mythologised even if the DGD’s response was “cute” to her gran.
Children who bite , like children who hit - no way should that be condoned or reinforced because of an “amusing” riposte.

Apologies, I missed that it was “Grandad” not gran, but does it matter?
No exceptions should be made but I am glad that an apology was accepted.

I seem to recall seeing this posted as a meme on Facebook hmm

MrTumble Wed 19-Dec-18 08:41:11

I know this maybe a silly question to some of you but what's a "me me".

MrTumble a meme is a funny image or video shared on social media

MrTumble Wed 19-Dec-18 08:58:43

? Gmelon. Its sunny here in N Ireland but frost on the car. Have a nice day everyone (or perhaps you dislike that phrase!)

Back to your grand daughter's logic, that's quite advance thinking for her age.
I can think of a similar example - an adult was accused of stabbing someone in the back.
"No" he said. "He ran backwards onto my knife!"

I am a relative newbie but "enthralled with her reply". ? Really!

Alexa Wed 19-Dec-18 12:42:08

I think it would be a shame if the little girl was made to feel guilty about her response. She is too young to learn advanced ethics about violence and forms of violence.

The first post didn't make clear that this was a 5 year old being roughed up by her strapping teenage brother.

I'm sure many of us know the 'Charlie bit me!' saga which about a million people watched.
