Hi everyone, my daughter is expecting her first baby in July, this will be my first grandchild as well.
She has asked if I could be with her for the birth.
Has anyone else had this experience? Any useful tips would be very much appreciated. X

Not for me - no, far too challenging, I'm afraid - I'm very squeamish!

I was dragged (against my will) to 'help' my eldest daughter - only to faint in the corridor outside. My son should have known, really, as I fainted when he had a filling as a child!

I just can't bear to see somebody I love in pain. Either I'll get very angry (at anyone, really) and/or I'll pass out.

I was a nightmare having my own, too, although I have a friend (with a high pain threshold, no drugs needed) who just loved giving birth - incomprehensible to me.
