My nan always said there's nothing clever about having a baby; the clever thing is making sure you don't have them smile

Oh sorry.
Not meant to pour cold water on your baby happiness, houseseller.
Congratulations!

Any reason for the secrecy?

Hithere Sat 01-Aug-26 20:53:13

Gorgeous name

Please ask administrators to remove the name of the baby off the thread.

It is not safe in this internet age.

Houseseller Sat 01-Aug-26 21:13:25

Thank you for suggesting this how do I do it

NotSpaghetti Sat 01-Aug-26 21:20:31

Report yourself - by clicking the three dots at the bottom of your post (see the image of what happens when you click it) and just ask them to remove the baby's (excellent!) name.

Congratulations again.

Forgot to attach the image!

Unusual

MawsRosie Sat 01-Aug-26 21:56:51

Not Levi?

The name is still readable on here.
Perhaps more posts should be removed?

Tuliptree Sun 02-Aug-26 07:44:28

I’ve reported one I spotted

Happylady2025 Sun 02-Aug-26 08:45:38

I dont see the problem and as for being "distraught" is a bit over the top. Perhaps your granddaughter wants to see her mum's reaction when she tells her. Cant see the problem tbh. I and the other grandparent werent told the name of our grandchild until we went to visit. Parents wanted to tell us when we were all together and to be honest seeing the pride in their faces when they announced his name was beautiful.

If you are getting fed up of all this, why not email GNHQ and get the whole thread deleted ? Its run its course hadn’t it. Enjoy your new ggs

Is that a name that your daughter would be particularly thrilled with, ie does it have a strong family connection perhaps?

Please will posters refrain from posting the babies name. It was my mistake I had forgotten it’s an open forum, thank you

Hi everyone, and happy Sunday!

We think the OP would prefer this thread to come to a natural close now.

The OP has asked us to remove any mentions of the child's name, so you may notice that some posts have been deleted.

Thank you all for your kind messages, good wishes and congratulations. We'd also like to add our own congratulations and best wishes to the OP and their family.

Best wishes,
Faye
GNHQ.

butterandjam

Maybe the baby's name is still "under discussion" between his parents?

I've known people register the baby with "our favourite" name then realise that the dream name doesn't actually match the real baby. My parents did that to me. On my birth certificate, my name is not Butterandjam. My bank, passport and the NHS all know me as PostPartumFlightOf Fancy.

I do wish there was a ‘like’ button on Gransnet, this really made me chuckle!
