Hello everyone.
I'm not exactly a newbie as I've been a member for a few years and very rarely (if ever posted) but I haven't been around for a while.
I intend to lurk around the threads

Welcome Masterpiece . It sounds as if Gransnet is just what you need. I don't do other social media either, but this is easy once you get into it. You will find plenty in common with other members, so do join in, especially if you have time to waste spare.

Welcome to everyone who has joined since I last posted. I agree with Lona. If a 'Welcome' thread encourages lurkers, we should have had one ages ago. I might even have introduced myself.

I have 2 grandchildren oldest 8 years old and was born when I was in my late 30's but unfortunately I have never met him and my youngest grandchild is 2 years old. I have never joined up with a grandparent site before and still a bit unsure, as I have never bothered with social media before. I do not know any other grandparents to talk too and I am a single mum with grown up children who have left home, the youngest in the last year so feeling surplus to requirements and having a difficult time as a grandparent at the moment so I feel as though it is maybe time to reach out for some discussion.

I haven't looked at this thread for a few days. Wow, lots of new members! Welcome to you all from me in Tynedale. Dip in and out as I do, and enjoy the chat! . Have a few on me.

I am Nanny to my GCs, or Nan to the older ones. To my girls my mum was Nanny Cat and MIL was Nanny Pig after the animals they owned!

Thanks jinglebellsfrocks, I'm sure are you are right--it's crazy, plucking up courage to make your first post--in the 'real' world I would have no problem expressing an opinion-- in fact it's usually a problem shutting me up!!

I think, in the early days, we didn't announce ourselves but snuck in and hoped none noticed - well I did!
