Apologies in advance if this has been asked before and not asking for secrets but I often notice my username was think that it was done in a tizz after finding half a dozen usernames weren't acceptable. My name begins with A but after that, it's a random creation.

Some of you have brilliant names, so creative. Any good stories? wink

Is it possible to change ones username , if so how? Mine is initials plus house number .

MrsPeel Wed 22-Feb-17 17:17:32

This morning I wore a long sleeved black T shirt and black trousers for work. My husband said it was 'very 60s'. So all day I was Emma Peel from The Advengers in a black catsuit. So I had to chose her as my username.

Greyduster Wed 22-Feb-17 17:06:07

Ok, jalima I've shown you mine, now show me yours! ?

Jalima Wed 22-Feb-17 12:05:06

You may think that about my house, jalima, but I couldn't possibly comment!
I could show you a grey duster or two Greyduster grin

annodomini Wed 22-Feb-17 09:44:40

I thought my username was very appropriate!

Bbnan Wed 22-Feb-17 09:20:34

I choose this because GD calls me nan and every one else calls me Bb.....Even though my name is Bernadette !!!!

Judthepud2 Wed 22-Feb-17 08:56:27

Lily jingle was banned from GN last year but I follow her on another social media platform. She has another name, posts are lovely and she is fine.

Such a lot of interesting answers. Thank you everyone. It's a shame we can't change our usernames because I'd change mine. At least it is anonymous which is useful but it isn't as colourful as some names which give a sense of the person behind the name. I think the 09 was when I joined. I did a lot of lurking before I dared post!
HopeHope your username is lovely. Welcome.

Iam64 Wed 22-Feb-17 08:14:51

I was 64 at the time I joined gransnet. I loved the Beatles song and as a young woman, couldn't imagine ever being 64.

Lilypops Wed 22-Feb-17 07:27:10

Mine is what I call my darling granddaughter, I was fascinated by Jinglebellsfrocks name and how she got it , but I don't see her on Gransnet any more, anyone know anything , is she ok I wonder,

PamelaJ1 Wed 22-Feb-17 07:10:18

If I had realised that my name makes me fairly recognisable I would have chosen a little more wisely. It's just my name and I have 1 GS, not very clever. I just hope that none of my friends join!

Bellanonna Wed 22-Feb-17 00:48:33

I too am married to a Nonno. However I am not Nonna, nor am I in the slightest bit
bella but it just seemed to combine well.

Hopehope Tue 21-Feb-17 23:56:25

I am new here although I have posted once on the anti histamine thread. I thought of Hope because I do hope alot of things every day. Hope was taken so I doubled it up smile. Now I wish I had given igt more thought, anyway Hope it is.

You'll have to guess

NfkDumpling Tue 21-Feb-17 22:37:18

I come from Norfik, so it seemed apt. I'm making no comment about my shape.

Coolgran65 Tue 21-Feb-17 22:11:37

I thought Coolgran sounded funky and I was 65 when I joined. Now 68.

callgirl1 Tue 21-Feb-17 22:05:54

I used to be a telephone operator in the dim and distant past, so I was originally numberplease. Then there was what Soop calls a buggeration and I couldn`t get onto Gransnet for a few days, so rejoined under a new name, another name for a telephonist.

Mildred Tue 21-Feb-17 21:43:51

I got very grumpy when picking my name and everyone was rejected, so picked Mildred because my granny was Milly, when I thought about it she was probably Millicent.

Nannylovesshopping Tue 21-Feb-17 20:37:06

Because I dosmile

Greyduster Tue 21-Feb-17 20:06:55

You may think that about my house, jalima, but I couldn't possibly comment! grin

fiorentina51 Tue 21-Feb-17 20:00:48

My mum was from Italy. My user name is a nod to the nickname I was given by my Italian grandmother.

Jalima Tue 21-Feb-17 19:47:11

Greyduster I had puzzled about that - now I have an explanation (and it's not that you have dusted a very dirty house grin)

oldgoat Tue 21-Feb-17 19:39:49

DS's affectionate name for his mother.
But I haven't got a beard (yet).

grumppa Tue 21-Feb-17 19:26:42

My family refer to me, unjustly of course, as the Christmas Grump

Judthepud2 Tue 21-Feb-17 19:17:29

Family nickname from childhood. Not that appropriate then as I was a scrawny little thing. More appropriate now perhaps!
