OK!!! who nicked my lovely long post and photos of our day yesterday!! I swear global warming will end as the world will be blanketed in all the lost posts sitting in the ether.

We had a fabulous day yesterday. The Easter egg hunt (organised by DGS1) was huge success as was the food and then the children were all dispersed to play 'nicely' and they did!!

DGS1 also made a fabulous pavlova (especially for his Ma because it's GF!) unfortunately, it was so nice that there was none to bring home! The day would have been even nicer had I remembered to take the chocolate cake I had made but I will leave it here for you all to eat so I don't.

We were also anxiously awaiting news of Lottie who was being tested for sepsis! All tests were negative and today she is apparently running round as usual.

I will post pictures of Bertie and Persie (the other two refused!).

Have a super Easter day everyone, whatever you are doing, but thinking especially of ann, Maw, callgirl and her family, wot and of course soop and MacS and anyone else who needs a hug.

And, I'll be round for roast lamb - no-one else likes it here either.

Ann I'll join you in feeling miserable. It's 14 years next month since my dh died and I still miss him.
I think it's only the thought of the cruise next month that's keeping me going.
I couldn't be bothered to cook yesterday and I think I'll have 2 slices of black pudding and a grilled tomato for my Easter meal.
Well better go and put the washing on and read my files for Tuesday. I've read the mornings but together they equate to about the size of War and Peace. I've also got Wednesday and Thursday's to read.

Ann, please don't feel embarrassed! It's good to be open! I'm trying to ignore my problems today by keeping busy. I've just finished cleaning the oven (yuck!) And now attempting some more decluttering. Easter will soon be over, and then we can get back to 'normal'. ?

Charley sorry to hear about your poorly hands - how heavy were those glasses of wine last night? Seriously though, having used computer keyboards nearly all my working life I know how painful the wrists and fingers can get.

Maw I'm not surprised Paw is still wiped out by the hospital yesterday; what a mistake they made Hope you both feel refreshed after a lazy day and find that good book/film to absorb yous.

I'm having another lazy one today. Had DGS for about 3 hours yesterday morning then had to go food shopping, as I hadn't been all week and the cupboards were a bit bare. DS and family have been a bit like ships passing in the night for the 2 weeks so the 3 of them are having some time together alone today. Had a call from DS earlier to check I was OK and to confirm I'd be down for roast lamb tomorrow, yummy

Horrid feeling mawb, sometimes I despair about thoughtless people. Hope you can relax a bit and your husband can rest and recover. Never apologise for your feelings ann. Ann I wish I could offer something other than to say my heart goes out to you. We watched his happen with my BiL and it was so distressing.?? I hope you enjoy your roast lamb (if I lived near you, I'd be round like a shot because I adore it, but DH doesn't so it doesn't feature much on menus in this house!).
Charley that's nasty and painful. Rest rest rest! I had a girl in our office who had to give up her job as a word processor operator because she developed TSV in both wrists. We made all sorts of adaptations for her - specially shaped keyboards, gel wrist rests, a special chair, but nothing really worked. But she was typing all day five days a week, so I hope a short respite from the keyboard will put you right soon!
Bella you're going to have your hands full today! Hope someone else is going the washing up! There will only be DH, me and DD today, as her menfolk are away this weekend. I asked her yesterday whether she wanted salmon or sea bass today and she texted back "cauliflower cheese?” ? She doesn't eat meat so DH and I will have stuffed chicken breasts. There will be cheesecake for afters and I made a chocolate cake for tea! (Just a small piece for me?).

A non-Easter Sunday here, DH is still wiped out despite being in bed by 7.30 last night and will probably be in his dressing gown all day. Grace had a good night, so, by definition so did I but as we will also be seeing nobody I need a good film or page turner of a book for the rest of today!
Trying not to look at it any other way but a bit of me is niggling that sisters in law have depended on us to organise Easter or Christmas to include them in the past (quite a saga in that but won't bore you with the minutiae) and I am just wondering if we will even get a phone call today - they know how poorly DH is and if I am being honest there is no way we would have driven to them in Kent, but a gesture might always have been appreciated

charley hope you will be following, if not posting, and hope time away from the keyboard will restore your hands. The condition sounds painful.
ann I can only imagine how sad you must feel. I can't really offer platitudes but maybe just treat this as any other time. It's good that you have had the happy times to remember.

Good morning all.
I am feeling rather embarrassed about my post last night but was feeling so sad remembering Easters past. I haven't seen anyone since Friday morning and it will probably be Tues before I do,although I have 8 Easter eggs and little gifts for the GC and their siblings.
H was ready for bed by 8pm and after I loaded the dishwasher and tidied up I followed at 8:30 and thought that in times gone by we would have been out for another 3/4 hours.
H can no longer hold a conversation, he asks hundreds of questions each day but sadly they are the same ones he asked yesterday and will ask again tomorrow.
Enough of that though, I am cooking a nice roast lamb dinner and again a nice bottle of red will feature.

I am having to bow out for a few days as I have teno synovitis both hands because of computer overuse. Left hand is very swollen, cannot bed the fingers of either hand so rest is the key.

Greyduster delighted to hear that you have found the hat- I knew that it was not here. If you fancy ambling down here and filling several pots, beds etc. I can dash out and buy some plants. I have not had much time to think about the great outdoors as there has been too much too occupy me indoors.

I am trying not to be sentimental when it comes to throwing out "stuff". I have come across photos of myself, my boss and the Duke of Gloucester and his security staff when he came to open my department- do I need it? One lift was painted for his use- he came marginally early so used the non painted one. He said that everywhere he went there was usually the smell of fresh paint.

Oh Maw what a c* up. It's bad enough having to drink all that Moviprep let alone the action at the other end I do feel for your DH and for you. Hope the lunch went ok.

My memories are sad and emotional but I have lived those times and no-one can take them away. I feel blessed to have experienced them as we all should.

Maw so sorry to hear that things didn't go to plan today. Unbelievable! It's a hard enough thing to face without the hospital making a dog's breakfast of things. Hopefully you will be back home and trying to relax now, and that you both have a better night's sleep tonight.

I lost that stitch, not through any fault of mine - it just kind of worked its way out! The others seem secure and nothing seems to be coming apart, so I am hopeful I can hold out until Tuesday and get someone to look at it. A trip to A&E would mean nearly an hour in the car and the God knows how long sitting waiting to be seen.
We went out into the garden to do what should have been a half hour job and ended up spending most of the day there doing one thing and another. Amazing what you can find to do in a garden that ostensibly doesn't need anything doing to it! We were supposed to be helping DD with her front garden but she chickened out and went running with a friend instead! No keen gardener, my daughter.
Like corner I am just this side of falling asleep at the moment! Have a pleasant evening, all.
