I'll take a photo of the tiny ew doggy to show you........it's just so cute and cheered me up no end. It's wearing the sleeve of an old jumper to keep her warm! This new life around us in the Spring is very heartening.

Crafting Mon 17-Apr-17 21:58:47

Ew dog wot ? Is that a cross between a lamb and a dog? Sounds cute though ? grin

callgirl1 Mon 17-Apr-17 22:04:21

Crafting, he`s a lovely little boy, one of 6 grandsons, but the only one who`s still a small boy, the others are between 17 and 25. I used to mind him whilst my son and his wife were at work, I really missed him when he started school, after having him from being 8 months old.

wot Mon 17-Apr-17 22:11:23

New dog not ew dog!!!

Swanny Mon 17-Apr-17 22:45:16

callgirl pleased to hear you and yours managed the weekend journeys well. That was a lot of driving over a couple of days.

Your grandson looks a lovely lad and I know what you mean about missing him when he started school. I looked after my DGS Monday to Friday every week from just before his first birthday. He went to Nursery 3 mornings a week for a couple of years before he started school and I would collect him at lunchtimes. It was a big wrench when he started school and his mum reduced her hours so she could collect him from school. I didn't know what to do with the time at first, but now have something going on most days and there's always the holidays to look forward to.

Swanny Mon 17-Apr-17 23:06:03

Maw you always amaze me with your positive attitude so I think you're allowed to feel a bit let down by life occasionally. Some people may just see how well you cope with everything and not realise the effort it can take. Sounds like you could do with an unexpected treat, someone to say 'Sit down and relax, I'll take care of this for you'. I hope you get an apology from the hospital and that you have a lovely evening on Thursday. Big hugs x

callgirl1 Tue 18-Apr-17 01:01:24

Swanny, I don`t get him in the holidays either, because his mum changed her job to school dinner lady, so is home with him now. But this week the 2 schools have slightly different holidays, so he`ll be here for 3 days this week.

Good morning all !!

Was thinking of you Charley and hope you're resting and you're hands are feeling a bit better.

It was a whopper piece of beef Grey. My lot are carnivores to a man !! smile BUT it was delicious, and we had dinner, then sandwiches and cold meat and mash the next day and there is enough left for sandwiches today and a treat for Sam ! Money well spent.

Sorry to hear you're feeling down Galen but that does not sound like much of an Easter lunch !! I hope you had a few treats stashed away too !Don't tell me you have food police too??? My youngest is fanatical about throwing things out past their 'best buy' date !!

Your two little ones are gorgeous Kitty!! We embraced the whole commercialism of Easter here too !! and long may it last. That time when this stuff sounds like fun to them is fleeting. PS Chocolate cake for me please...but the Pavlova wouldn't go amiss either !!

wise words soop ...love the life you live , live the life you love . I admire your philosophy.

Sounds like one heck of a party Dusty right up my street !

Maw you're allowed to have a blue day....if it helps you can take me virtually with you to your evening out. Switch on FaceTime, prop me up on the chair and Ill be happy :-)

Its been so busy in the kitchen , but I've caught up now if not commented on everyone , so a wave to all !!

Back to normal here , so I've added a few pictures. The Easter Egg hunt...with Cooper VERY excited to find an egg. Its his first year where he knows what's going on. Laura in her new nightie I made ( she is reaching the sleeps all hours age) and then one of the 4 before the e numbers kicked in :-)

Happy days all xx

kittylester Tue 18-Apr-17 10:09:21

Maw, I've met byou too and I can't imagine that you are really Billy no mates. I hope all goes well today and that you get some answers.

Fab photos N&G. I'll try to add one of DGD3 after she was sent up and told to get ready for bed!

kittylester Tue 18-Apr-17 10:12:24

Oopsfogot Persie getting ready for bed!

kittylester Tue 18-Apr-17 10:13:12

Oops, forgot!!!!

NanaandGrampy Tue 18-Apr-17 11:35:09

Kitty....you sent Snow White to bed??????????? shame on you smile

kittylester Tue 18-Apr-17 11:49:58

Not me - DD3!! Somewhere I have a photo of her asleep wearing a full 'Let it go' outfit including shoes! It was not unknown for her uncle to go to bed wearing full football kit - including boots - in case he over slept! grin

Galen Tue 18-Apr-17 12:28:25

So! We have another election coming.
Can we get GNHQ to provide a politics free corner
Or
Shall we just declare ourselves one?

Elegran Tue 18-Apr-17 13:09:16

A unilateral declaration won't work, Galen, It'll take full barricades, and a machine-gun or two.

soop Tue 18-Apr-17 14:11:18

Good grief! Or...heaven's to Mergatroyd as my Nana would say. What on earth have you lot been up to since I logged off yesterday. How on earth do you expect me to play catch up? Deep sigh. Hang on and I shall do my best to read all the new posts.

Before I do...I've taken a photo of a card that arrived today. Handcrafted by N&G. The colours have come out very differently (in fact, it is gold and green and bracken coloured). Yet another for my treasure box. smileTogether with a very big thankyou.

soop Tue 18-Apr-17 14:12:21

So sorry that the flash has distorted the real colours. Isn't this delightful?

soop Tue 18-Apr-17 14:21:21

Right! I'm about to go backwards through the latest messages. At some point, I should arrive at the very beginning. wink

Galen and Elegran What have I missed? I've been at the care home. Television was off for a welcome change.

kitty Your photograph is lovely.

callgirl1 Your young grandson is one very lucky lad. You take such good care of him. The way he snuggled up close to you, spoke volumnes. He is also extremely well mannered. smile

soop Tue 18-Apr-17 14:25:54

NananandGrampy Looking at your photos is very like walking through the looking glass. Another world of fun and hijinks. Big grin and (hug)

wot Where be the new dog? I'm looking forward to going all soppy when I see the photo.

soop Tue 18-Apr-17 14:36:32

HAAAAAAAA! callgirl1 How could you tell this lot that I'd asked for a large glass of wine...which, I confess, is correct. It was delicious. It made me feel very sleepy. When MacS asked did I want a G&T during the evening...I had a pot of tea instead. Goody two-shoes is my second name. wink

wot ...so, the dog doesn't belong to you? Yay or nay.

soop Tue 18-Apr-17 14:38:35

Maw If I could, I would accompany you to the theatre. It would take me ten or so hours to reach you...depending on the traffic. smile

Elegran Tue 18-Apr-17 15:33:47

Soop Theresa May has announced a snap election in early June. I will say no more - this is a politics-free zone.

soop Tue 18-Apr-17 15:34:23

hmm

callgirl1 Tue 18-Apr-17 15:51:02

That card is lovely Soop, and wonderful of N&G to create and send it to you. I was sorry to miss meeting Rory on Sunday, but didn`t want to upset him with so many strange faces. I`m sorry to have let your little secret out about the wine glass size, after all, both MacS and me egged you on to have a large one!
I`ve just washed the bathroom and kitchen floors, so why am I surprised that Lady Mia has decided to walk across it?
Kitty and N&G, gorgeous photos.
